Jacobs Preventive Maintenance Specialist (Chemical Feed) - The Villages in Orlando, Florida

As a Preventive Maintenance Specialist - Chemical Lead, you’ll join a collaborative team ensuring that our clients can deliver their services - uninterrupted. Based in The Villages, FL you’ll have the opportunity to repair, calibrate, and provide maintenance for chemical feed systems. This will include controls, devices, and plumbing used in the water treatment process. In this role, you will utilize full range of chemicals, mechanics, and equipment involved in the production of water. You will also understand and implement safety and security protocol regarding each chemical feed system. We will rely on you to request potential improvements to chemical feed systems, troubleshoot issues with chemical feed systems, and guide work performed by others. This role will be part-time and may require occasional weekend work. If you are up for the challenge, we’ve been looking for someone just like you to join our team to help us transform tomorrow.

Typical Responsibilities:

• Inspects, maintains, and repairs chemical feed systems including pumps, pipes, valves, and other related equipment.

• Calibrates process control monitoring systems and other mechanical devices used in the water treatment process.

• Responds to issues with the assessment, containment, clean up, and appropriate notification of incidents based on the established HAZMAT safety measures.

• Documents maintenance and repair work within the asset management system.

• Attends required safety trainings, considers opportunities for safety improvements, and collaborates to ensure that the work environment around chemical feeds is safe for all personnel.

• Collaborates with Jacobs staff and with contractors to facilitate the safe completion of other projects/maintenance activities by educating others and by deactivating, modifying, or otherwise altering chemical feed systems to enable the work.

• Drives and operates vehicles and equipment to job sites.

  • 15+ years of experience in chemical feed systems for municipal applications

  • Trained in the installation and maintenance of chlorine gas (cl2) and chemical feed systems.

  • Proficient in the use of plant SCADA systems and software

  • Valid US driver’s license with no major infractions

Ideally, You’ll Also Have:

  • Previous knowledge of the Central Florida water market

  • 20+ years of experience in chemical feed systems for municipal applications

The use of appropriate safety equipment will be mandatory in these areas to prevent hazardous contact.
