Position Purpose
The BIM (Building Information Modeling) Coordinator for the TAIT Group will lead project efforts and project teams responsible for the project digital modeling practices and product to support design, engineering, manufacturing, and fabrication. This person will work closely with the various teams to follow best practices, templates, and training documents, align coordination and documentation as defined by the BIM Manager, for both the internal needs of the projects and the various client’s requirements.
Essential Responsibilities/Accountabilities
The BIM Coordinator will work with the BIM and project teams to provide digital documentation for a wide variety of entertainment venues, live show venues, complex theme park attractions, cruise ships, museums, and events. This person is key to the process for not only documentation but also project presentation, as this role is designed to work closely with the client for design intent and project continuity. This role works in coordination with the collective TAIT Group.
Competencies
Responsible for overseeing all BIM work on assigned projects
Oversees the internal project specific CDE (Common Data Environment)
Helps to oversee the project teams access to clients CDE’s, Interprets clients BEP’s (BIM Execution Plan) and EIR’s (Employers Information Requirements)
Develop design documentation in Revit or AutoCAD, working along-side discipline designers which will contribute to properly and uniformly composed documents for all aspects of the intended designs
Works with BIM Detailers for Revit family and drawing package creation
Work with TAIT Group fabrication staff to provide direction as needed during the fabrication process for assigned projects
Assist designers throughout the design/build process to update any drawings/documentation
Guidance of the show design and engineering process to ensure designs are being executed to drawing specifications (where applicable)
Works with the BIM Manager to assist in efforts to develop and revise standards and project templates for project packages using AutoCAD/Revit/BIM 360/Navisworks
Perform assigned duties according to the policies and expectations prescribed by the company.
Minimum Qualifications
Extremely Proficient using Computer-Aided Design (CAD) software including AutoCAD, Revit, Navisworks, and familiarity with 3D modeling tools
Experience with entry level concepts, 3D Software – SketchUp, Google Draw, etc.
Highly proficient working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite; Excel, Word, Project, Outlook, and Adobe Suite
Bachelor’s degree in one of the following – Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, Liberal Arts – Theater Design/Technology – or equivalent experience
Major theme park development/theatre production experience
