CHAVEZ FARMS, INC. Farmworkers/Crop Laborers (Temporary) in OREM, Utah

Temporary Need: 02/27/24 - 11/15/24. Ten (10) full-time, seasonal, temporary Farm Worker/Crop Laborers needed. Requirements: A minimum of three (3) months experience in farm work, crop harvesting. Location: Work will be performed in Orem, Utah. Will work 40 hrs/wk, from 7:00A.M - 3:30P.M, Mon-Fri. Wage is $16.34/hr. Duties: Workers will be required to keep all property and farm buildings clean. Work such as light pruning and removal of pruning's from orchard assist in planting new tree's fruits and vegetables. Shoveling, irrigating, hoeing weeds, cleaning ditches, cleaning trucks, harvesting sweet corn, pumpkins, watermelon, cantaloupe, tomatoes and other fruits and vegetables will be assigned on a daily basis. Laying and pulling plastic mulch in the field. Lifting and carrying up to 50 lbs. Worker will work in hot, cold and sometimes wet conditions, according to the weather. Terms and conditions of employment: The employer will provide to the worker at no charge or deposit charge, all tools, supplies, equipment required to perform the duties assigned. Workers will be required to keep all property, housing, and farm buildings clean. Must be able to provide employment eligibility documentation (I9 verification) upon hire. The employer will provide, at no cost to the worker, Workers' Compensation coverage or private insurance which is equal to Workers' Compensation laws for comparable employment. Applicants that have not worked in crop harvesting during the past twelve (12) months, up to two (2) references will be required. The employer guarantees to offer the worker employment for a total number of work days equal to at least 3/4's of the total work period beginning with the first workday after the arrival of the worker at the place of employment or advertised contractual first day of need. Whichever is later to occur, and ending on the expiration date specified. If the worker completes 50% of the work contract period, the employer shall pay the worker the cost incurred by the worker for transportation and daily subsistence ($15.46/day, maximum $59/day with receipts) from the place from which the worker has come to work for the employer. The offered wage equals or exceeds the highest of the prevailing wage that is issued and determined by DOL for the time period the work is performed. This job is in connection with a future H-2A labor certification application.
