Position Announcement
The Department of Public Health at Utah Valley University is seeking adjunct instructors for face-to-face and online Nutrition courses.
This position is posted on a continuous recruit basis. This means that applications are accepted even though there may not be a position currently available.
Qualified applicants should be able to perform the following responsibilities:
• Design and teach nutrition-related courses, specifically Foundations of Human Nutrition, Nutrition through the Lifecyle, Nutrition and Disease, Public Health Nutrition, and Cultural Aspects of Food and Nutrition.
• Align course assessments with Course Learning Outcomes (CLOs) for each course taught.
• Complete the Online Teaching Academy if teaching an online class(es).
• Prepare instructional materials (course outlines, syllabi, exams, visual presentations, assignments) as necessary.
• Instruct, manage, and supervise individual and groups in classrooms and/or online using appropriate teaching methods.
• Evaluate instruction and learning by means of appropriate testing methods.
• Provide specific and timely feedback on student assignment submissions.
• Maintain a student-oriented approach to education.
• Maintain and submit accurate and current reports and records involving student accountability, attendance, performance, and follow-up.
• Meet established deadlines for final student grade submission.
Adjunct faculty must live in Utah. Adjunct applications are reviewed only as needed; therefore, applicants should be aware they may not hear back about the status of their application. Adjunct faculty are hired on an as-needed basis for a semester appointment only. Any offer of employment will be contingent upon the results of a background check, which includes a criminal records check.
Minimum Qualifications
Graduation with a master's degree in a nutrition-related field with four years of experience OR bachelor's degree with six years of experience.
Preference is given to Registered Dieticians.
