At Autodesk Construction Solutions, we have 5 separate cloud ecosystems, over 400 developers across 9 time zones, innovating 29 individual products. To scale and deliver value to our customers effectively we need powerful tools and administration services to make the enterprise experience exciting.

Position Overview

As an engineer on the Admin Platform team, your mission will be building tools and functionality that enterprise customers adore. Our tech stack is the hub of all features that are built within ACS. Because of that, we are leaning into an Inner Sourcing framework that allows teams to unblock themselves and decouple from our own roadmap. Your focus will be ensuring that the Admin products and services are a delight to develop on and lead a developer experience that entices developers outside of our teams to contribute to. These users can span companies, roles and responsibilities with such variance that managing their usage and features can be very cumbersome for administrators. We aim to make this experience frictionless and reliable, enabling users to have the tools and information they need.

Responsibilities

  • You will research, conceive, design and develop backend components and tools to extend, improve, stabilize and scale your team's backend

  • Collaborate with a variety of teams in ACS, both domestic and abroad

  • Write unit / integration tests to achieve a better and more robust code

  • Take an active role in code reviews & pull requests, get your own code reviewed by the team and become a better developer overall

Minimum Qualifications

  • BS or MS in a technical field, or significant equivalent experience

  • 5+ years of backend and distributed systems engineering experience

  • 3+ years developing backend solutions using Node.js or a desire to learn

  • Expertise with SQL/Postgres DB

  • Strong ability to design scalable, available, resilient and cost-effective applications in the cloud (preferably AWS). The candidate should have the ability to pick out the right tech stack and tools for the problem to be solved

  • Strong communication skills with the ability to converse fluently with multiple types of audiences ranging from managers, customers, and software developers

  • Ability to convert complex software problems into technical tasks

  • Ability to work well in a remote-friendly distributed team to deliver on team goals

  • Flexibility under changing conditions and ability to multi-task between projects
