KANE COUNTY SCHOOL DISTRICT Special Ed Para Professional (Valley High School) in ORDERVILLE, Utah
Valley High School in Orderville, Utah is looking for a Special Ed ParaProfessional. Two (2) positions available.
*Description: *
Special Education Paraprofessional, part-time up to 29.5 hours per week. Duties may include working with students with mild to severe disabilities. Assisting students to complete coursework, prioritize and manage workloads, communicate with teachers, and submit assignments. Tutor students in academic subjects. Coordinate, plan, and implement student routines and schedules under the supervision of the Special Education teacher. Monitor and encourage on-task behavior. Work one on one with a student with significant learning and motor disabilities.
Teaching and practicing basic communication skills and positive behavior choices.
Duties include supervision during the school day, accompanying the student to lunch, monitoring physical exercise, and assisting with physical therapy as assigned by the therapist.
Other duties as assigned by the Special Education Supervisor and building administrator.
Salary based on Kane District salary schedule with no benefits.
Work Schedule will be arranged with employer.
Requirements:
Applicants must have a high school diploma or equivalent. Must possess either an Associate degree (or higher) or successfully pass the ParaPro Praxis test. Must be willing to pay pass a background check no charge).
Applicants are required to possess excellent communication skills, classroom management, the ability to work closely with students and teachers, basic technology skills needed to run word processing and media software programs, Must have the ability to assist students in completing coursework, time management, and communicating with students, teachers, and administration.
