Eaton Corporation Engineering Analyst in Orchard Park, New York

Eaton’s IS AER MSD division is currently seeking a Engineering Analyst. ​

The expected annual salary range for this role is $65250.0 - $95700.0 a year.

What you’ll do:

The Engineering Analyst provides comprehensive analytical support to the engineering team and assists with planning, initiating and monitoring customer funded and new Research & Development (R&D) projects across all Integrated Product Teams (IPTs). The analyst assists with the collaboration and oversite of project activities between the Engineering and Program Management functions. They are the communication link between functions, providing governance, progress reports, and insuring adherence and compliance to program and Business Management System (BMS) requirements through diligent audits of project metrics and artifacts. In addition, the analyst supports overall team planning activities including resource allocation and forecasting. maintaining hazardous materials shipping documents ensuring the site is following all DOT Regulations. The analyst will also provide administrative support needs for the engineering team.

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily, including the following. Other duties may be assigned as required.

What you will do:

• Maintain and Renew hazardous materials shipping documents including Exception Letters and Special Permits per DOT Regulations

• Ensure timely reporting of Engineering Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) related to Project Performance, Engineering Excellence and Continuous Improvement.

• Compile, analyze, report, and facilitate recurring project status meetings, such as Monthly Technical Review (MTR) & Key Performance Indicator (KPI) meetings.

• Conduct analysis and manages data reporting to agreed time, cost, and quality requirements. Drive a continuous improvement culture for methods, systems, and tools that can be improved within the function/business unit based on MTR & KPI analyses and trends. Highlight issues and present recommendations in order to meet deliverables.

• Support the Engineering Leadership Team in the development and maintenance of actions and metrics.

• Support Orchard Park project initiation process including assisting with the creation of project folders and baseline project targets.

• Implement standard audit schedules to ensure project team compliance to several internal Business Management System (BMS) documents to support AS/ISO (9001 and 14001) audits and recertification.

• Support Engineering AS/ISO (9001 and 14001) audit preparation activities and participates in formal AS/ISO audits as a representative for both Engineering and Engineering Functional Excellence.

• Coordinate with cross-functional teams to generate and implement new engineering policy and procedure documents as well as improvements to site wide Business Management System (BMS).

• Coordinate, track and assist with recurring Enterprise system Bill of Material (BOM) Audit reviews.

• Assist with coordination, tracking, filing and dissemination of Engineering Lessons Learned Alerts

• Provide periodic administrative support to the engineering team including presentation development, maintenance of engineering databases, visitor support, etc.

• Assist with updating the operations database for tracking of hazardous products and materials maintained at the site.

Qualifications:

Basic Qualifications:

  • A minimum of an Associate's Degree, plus 2 years of experience providing data analysis and administrative support in a technical environment?OR Military experience, with equivalent data analysis and administrative support?

  • A minimum of 1 year of experience with Microsoft Excel, within a professional environment.

  • This position requires use of information or access to hardware which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). All applicants must be U.S. persons within the meaning of ITAR. ITAR defines a U.S. person as a U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. “Green Card Holder”), Political Asylee or Refugee.

  • Relocation is not provided. All candidates must reside within 75 miles of Eaton's Orchard Park, NY Facility.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience within a manufacturing environment and/or aerospace organization.

  • Experience working with the US Department of Transportation and/or Transportation of Hazardous Materials (49 CFR 100-185) certification
