ManagedLab Services IT Support Technician in Orange County, California

This position will be a WFH position but candidate MUST be located in Southern California. Candidate must have a reasonable home working environment. We will provide all necessary computer & phone equipment and utilities required to perform the job.

MLS Technology Group has a proven 10 year track record and we are continuing our growth pattern and seeking a stellar Support Technician to join our team in San Diego. We are a collaborative group who value fun in a fast paced environment while still valuing work/life balance. As a Support Technician you will be interfacing directly with our clients as we manage a wide array of users, workstations, servers and networks. The ideal candidate will have substantial experience providing amazing support to users in Windows desktop & server environments (with an occasional Mac thrown in for good measure), fantastic communication and documentation skills, and thrive in a fast-paced environment. We're looking for someone who smiles at IT challenges - not someone who scowls and runs away!

If you have never worked for an MSP it offers significant advantages over “in-house IT”. Primarily, access to a wide variety of environments, technologies, and industries. This is not a "sit behind your desk pushing the same button all day" kind of job. For those willing to hustle, there is nearly unlimited learning potential, rarely will you be bored or left scratching your head trying to come up with items to keep you busy. In short, if you bring a high level of enthusiasm, great computer support skills, like to laugh, and are not the stereotypical IT troglodyte you may have found your new work family!

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide remote (and occasional onsite) technical computer support at an advanced level. Including, but not limited to Windows & Macintosh desktops/laptops, Windows servers, switches, firewalls, routers, wireless access points, storage devices, and more.

  • Provide computer "support with a smile" to a wide variety of clients via phone, email, remote session, and in-person (socially distanced) interactions.

  • Live and breathe end user support tickets in the service desk - faithfully updating tickets and communicating proactively with users and co-workers to ensure customer delight and team success!

  • Install, configure, and support critical business applications including but not limited to Quickbooks, Great Plains, Sharepoint, OneDrive, Office, Adobe Suite, and many more line-of-business applications

  • Constantly maintain high levels of customer delight with fast responses, positive attitude, and concise, accurate work done right the first time.

  • Manage and maintain extensive computer environments including full security and performance across end user computers as well as cloud environments such as Office 365.

  • Take part in projects which may include OS installations, server implementations, cloud migrations, equipment network deployments, and more.

  • Accurately support Windows server functions, including Hyper-V, Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Group policy and other roles.

  • Maintain time entries and other documentation accurately and efficiently.

REQUIRED (Must-Haves):

  • 5+ years’ technical experience with IT Help Desk support and ticket management in a Windows network business environment

  • Solid technical understanding of how things really work: Windows, computer hardware, OSI stack, DNS, wireless, firewalls, security tools, and much more

  • Stellar customer service skills for de-escalating a difficult situation and showing empathy

  • Ability to adapt to change in a fast-paced environment.

  • Actively and independently stays current with new technologies and methodologies.

  • Exceptional administrative writing, reporting, and documenting (please show off these skills when you apply for this position)

  • Excellent verbal communication skills

  • Effective time management, planning and organization skills

  • Take personal ownership of a problem and see it through to end.

  • Collaborative team contributor and accepts feedback positively

  • Exceptional problem solving

  • Valid driver's license and proof of insurance

  • Reasonable home office work environment

  • Must be physically located in Southern California

  • Background checks and drug testing mandatory

PREFERRED (Nice-to-Haves):

  • 5+ years' experience installing and managing business-class firewalls such as Sonicwall

  • 5+ years' experience installing and managing advanced Windows Server environments including Group Policy management

  • 5+ years' experience installing and managing business applications such as Quickbooks, Great Plains, Yardi, and more

  • 2+ years' experience with RMM tools such as Automate/Labtech, ScreenConnect, & Auvik

  • 2+ years' experience with Service Desk/PSA tools such as Connectwise

  • 2+ years' experience with documentation & security tools such as IT Glue, Webroot, and more

  • MCSA, CCNA, Security+, or Network + certifications are a big plus

  • Physically located in San Diego county
