We are offering a contract to hire employment opportunity for an Assistant Product Manager in the consumer-packaged goods industry, located in Orange, California, United States. The role will involve managing correspondence with global suppliers, tracking key timeline deliverables, and providing sales support for specialty domestic customers among other responsibilities.

Responsibilities:

• Assist in sourcing materials and new products, both domestic and international (China).

• Manage correspondence with global suppliers, negotiate specifications, costs, delivery schedule, freight arrangements, quality, lab testing, etc.

• Track and manage key timeline deliverables and purchasing and shipping deadlines.

• Maintain pricing files, cost sheets, and margin spread sheets.

• Track samples: concept, art file submission, licensor approval, production samples.

• Tracking of new artwork/orders for new products and packaging.

• Product Logistic Support. Place initial New Product orders for new material components and products developed as a part of custom programs.

• Track initial orders, including correspondence with vendors, freight forwarder, and Mexico receiving for on-time arrival of goods.

• Provide sales support for specialty domestic customers.

• An understanding of the specific vendor manuals is needed to assist direction of product packaging, logistics, and invoicing of mass market customers.

• Maintain and update customer web-based data profiles and product information.

• Assist with customer service phone line.

• Enter orders from key accounts.

  Requirements

• Degree in business, marketing, or supply chain management.

• 3+ years in a manufacturing company with experience in consumer products sourcing and inventory management.

• Intermediate or better Excel skills; must have accurate data. Must enjoy Excel.

• Concept thru sourcing and manufacturing. You like to have your hands on the product. Have an interest in it.

• Helpful to have a background in toys and art
