Dixie Electric, Plumbing, & Air Electrical Estimator- Commercial Service in Opelika, Alabama

    What You will be responsible for:

  • Manually calculate various data quantity take-offs for data entry into a computer estimating system.

  • Identify qualified suppliers/subcontractors and solicit quotes. 

  • Developing and organizing bid package estimate documents for service repairs and small service work projects.

  • Maintain files of working documents for back-up to estimating figures. 

  • Distribute bidding documents to vendors for pricing as needed.

  • Establish, develop, and maintain positive customer relationships. This will include calling on new customers.

  • Ordering and maintaining a delivery schedule for project material.

  • Provide field support to the crews doing the work you’ve estimated.  

    Qualifications and Skills:

  • At least 5-year experience at the Journeyman Electrician level. Experience as a lead service technician, foreman, or electrical construction superintendent is a plus.

  • Ability to calculate mathematical extensions, read, and understand architectural construction documents.

  • Ability to interact effectively and professionally with all levels of employees- both management and staff alike, vendors, clients, and others.

  • High level of initiative and time management

  • Preferred qualification: Experience working in the electrical trade or commercial construction experience.
