The Certified Nurse Aide will provide basic nursing care to non-acutely ill patients, and assist in the maintenance of a safe and clean environment under the direction and supervision of the registered nurse in charge of the team and / or unit. The Certified Nurse Aide promotes compliance and support of policies. The Certified Nurse Aide provides basic care to non-acutely ill patients within the Certified Nursing Assistant’s scope of practice that includes actions to meet psychosocial needs and physical needs. Provides general aspects of care that meet psychosocial or physical needs or both simultaneously, within the Certified Nursing Assistants scope of practice. Meets communication needs of patients. The Certified Nurse Aide demonstrates performance reflecting the initiate and responsibility expected of a Certified Nursing Assistant. Performs other duties as assigned, with the Certified Nursing Assistant’s scope of practice. Assists in admission, transfer and discharge of patient. The Certified Nurse Aide performs basic patient care responsibilities considering needs specific to the standard of care for patients age. Demonstrates ability to communicate to the RN any observed changes in patient status and responses. Maintains awareness of the needs of the pediatric, geriatric, and general population. The Certified Nurse Aide demonstrates ability to assist with feeding patients and maintaining fluid balance with technique appropriate for patients’ age and physical condition. Provides explanation to patient and family prior to administering care to patient; answers questions within scope of practice. Demonstrates ability to provide services within scope of practice. Communicates appropriately and clearly to team leader, coworkers, and providers. The Certified Nurse Aide consults other departments as appropriate to provide for an interdisciplinary approach to the patient’s needs. Provides care appropriate to the condition and age of patient, including pediatric, geriatric and general population. The Certified Nurse Aide demonstrates an ability to assist with procedures and performs services requiring technical and manual skills under the direction of a RN within the Certified Nursing Assistant scope of practice. Demonstrates an ability to be flexible, organized, and function under stressful situations. Responds to patient in emergency or physically distress situations. The Certified Nurse Aide treats patients and their families with respect and dignity; ensures patient confidentiality. Interacts professionally with patient and / or family. Maintains a good working relationship both within the department and other departments. The Certified Nurse Aide meets current documentation stands and policies and completes within shift. Manages and operates equipment safely and correctly including ambulance phone / radio and switchboard. Coordinates and supervises patient care under the direct supervision of an RN. Medical and surgical asepsis is carried out during treatments. The Certified Nurse Aide meets dress code standards; appearance is neat and clean. Completes annual educational requirements. The Certified Nurse Aide maintains regulatory requirements. Reports to work on time and as scheduled; completes work within designated time. Wears identification while on duty. The Certified Nurse Aide participates in in-services / educational requirements. As a preceptor, assists and supports a new or transferred employee through a planned orientation to a specific clinical area. The Certified Nurse Aide attends staff meetings on a regular basis. Interacts professionally with other disciplines. Ensures confidentiality of patients’ records. May perform other duties as assigned. What we need from you Education: High school graduate OR equivalent. Licensure/Certification: Successful completion of New York State Nursing Assistant certification program. This position is eligible for a sign on bonus up to: USD $7,500.00 Pay Range Salary is based on a variety of factors, including, but not limited to, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, training, and fair market evaluation based on industry standards. The above compensation range represents a good faith belief of the compensation range by Bassett Healthcare Network, and its entities and affiliates, at the time of this posting or advertisement. Pay Range Minimum: USD $18.02/Hr. Pay Range Maximum: USD $27.03/Hr.
