Description
SUMMARY:Licensed Practical Nurse to work under the direction of a Registered Nurse in providing services and care for consumers residing in Madison Cortland ARC Residential Program.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Oversees the general health and medical management of assigned individuals. This includes follow-up of health-related issues and coordination with physicians, clinicians, family members, and Residential Services Program staff.
Provides medical support for residential program; through assisting with arranging and scheduling of appointments, follow-ups as necessary, paperwork, and filing in accordance with the Residential system.
Assists R.N. with updating and tracking appointments, lab work and the results thereof.
Upon RN direction may provide oversight and assist residential staff in implementing Nursing Plans, Nutrition Plans and any health-related issues of consumers.
May assist with medication order in the Residential Program and keeps R.N. appraised of any discrepancies.
Must have basic computer skills.
OPWDD Training provided upon hire.
Other duties may be assigned.

Work Environment:While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to outside weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

Requirements
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:Valid New York State Licensed Practical Nurses License and at least six months medical experience within the developmental disabilities or public health nursing field.
