ABOUT EMPIRE SCREEN PRINTING: Empire is a family-owned, award-winning business that prides itself on using environmentally-friendly print methods. Empire is a full-service company in OEM and POP markets, producing overlays, vinyl decals, crystal-line domes, nameplates, magnets, and roll labels, using UV LED and UV screening, digital and flexographic printing. We\'re currently looking for a full-time Shipping Associate. FIRST SHIFT: Monday Thursday 6:00am 4:00pm JOB SUMMARY: The Shipping Associate has a critical role in our business in ensuring customer orders are shipped accurately and on-time. You are the last person at Empire Screen Printing to handle a customer\'s order, so you will leave an impression on every shipment that leaves our facility. RESPONBILITIES: Prepare and ship customer orders (and other non-sales orders related) shipments as required ensuring shipping accuracy and on-time delivery objectives. Responsible for keeping an adequate supply of shipping materials on-hand at all times. Ensure the order and the products matches; then box, crate, shrink-wrap as necessary. Contact common carriers and schedule pick-ups, ensuring the meeting of customer delivery requirements. Prepare all necessary documents and paperwork for international shipments and coordinate with customers. Load trucks with outgoing products and unload trucks with incoming materials. Inspect materials and ensure bills of landing are correct. Reports defective materials or questionable conditions. Complete and maintain all required paperwork. Maintain departmental housekeeping standards. Process recycled products. Monitor shipping reports to ensure daily schedule is completed. Work closely with other departments to ensure prompt communication of rush and other special orders. All other duties assigned. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Must be able to lift in excess of 50 lbs. and carry them for up to 10 feet. Must be able to stand, sit, bend, reach, and move about the facility. Must be familiar with the most common material handling equipment and willing to get certified to operate a forklift. Requires an education equivalent to a high school diploma. Must be familiar with proper packaging methods and able to interpret visual aids used to convey specific packaging requirements. Ability to interpret packaging slips, enter into the computer the correct information, to acknowledge receipt of goods into the purchase order and processing database. Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Must have general computer skills for entering shipments, printing labels, and processing work orders. Demonstrates effective verbal and written communication skills for interactions with freight carriers, customers, customs officials, and other Empire Screen Printing employees. Displays flexibility to accommodate changing tasks and priorities. Ability to foster a team environment. Demonstrates a sense of accountability. Promotes and demonstrates Empire\'s core values. Works well under pressure to meet deadlines.
