The Cloud team at Schwab is looking for a driven, results-oriented Software Applications Engineer who shares our passion for technology, innovation, and quality. Our main goal here at Schwab is to transform people’s lives by changing the way the world invests.

In this role you will build cloud-based solutions/modules and services for application teams to deploy, manage, configure, scale, and supervise their applications. Actively participate in peer review of code and cloud design to ensure the code quality and best practices. Use robust testing procedures, (including test driven development and automated testing), to ensure high quality code. Participate in Agile ceremonies to influence best practices pertaining to software delivery, provisioning infrastructure, adding safeguards, and installing security agents making infrastructure more robust and dynamic. Support with proactive daily system monitoring including reviewing system and application logs as well as responding to, triaging, solving, and remediating incidents. Implementing new Patterns and Solutions required to better assist application teams achieve production readiness. Participate in communication with technology partners, ensuring collaboration across technology and the business.

• Partnering with Product Teams and Engineers to deliver positive cloud deployment experiences.

• Competent in building reusable code which simplifies code maintenance and code complexity.

• Identifying ways to improve our technology, process &

• Mentoring junior developers in design patterns, best practices, and software development strategy.

• Competent with CI/CD skills – GitHub/Jenkins.

• Practical knowledge of build and release process within a software development lifecycle.

What you have

• Required Skills :

• 5+ years of software engineering practices using modern coding languages – JAVA, Python, C++, C# or equivalent.

• 2+ years Terraform application development, or equivalent

• 3+ years’ experience in public cloud environments – GCP, AWS, Azure, or equivalent experience.

• Preferred :

• Bachelor Degree in related field

• Experience with Atlassian suite of products to include JIRA, Confluence, Bitbucket & Bamboo

• Quickly grasp complex concepts and learn new technologies.
