Optiv Purchasing Specialist | Remote, USA in Omaha, Nebraska

This position can be hired remotely anywhere within the continental U.S.

The Purchasing Specialist is an operations support role assisting both the new business and renewals business client operations team as well as the Client Managers / Client Directors with management of their security technology business. The purchasing specialists provide exceptional service, support, and communication through assisting with customer inquiries, problem-solving, issue resolution direct, and management of customer orders, ensuring customer satisfaction and retention through processing orders, inquiries, and order management acting as the liaison with the sales team, client invoicing team, account payable, and collections teams. This crucial role interacts with manufacturing partners and internal business in a fast-paced support atmosphere. The Purchasing Specialists report to the Purchasing Manager.

How you’ll make an impact

  • Support assigned sales regions by processing all client security technology sales orders in accordance with current guidelines booking service level turnaround time (within 24 hours for bookable orders) ensuring all orders have been audited for financial accuracy to minimize financial risk to Optiv.

  • Proactively monitoring existing open business to ensure client satisfaction and prompt revenue recognition using Salesforce.com and NetSuite.

  • Proactively follow-up with clients/manufacturers/distributors/Client Managers/Client Directors other to ensure the sales cycle and the client needs are met

  • Select proper order type to help with revenue recognition forecasting.

  • Provide open order status reporting to the COS/Client Manager/Client Director, operations, and management upon request.

  • Act as a liaison between Optiv internal business units and the vendor/partner/distributor community.

  • Collaborate with internal teams to share best practices, ideas, training, that support Optiv’s culture and core values

  • Build a professional relationship with internal cross functional teams to reflect Optiv's Core Values

  • Participate in corporate compliance trainings, operations/systems improvements, user-acceptance testing and personal career development activities.

  • Develop and maintain product and industry knowledge

  • Actively volunteer to complete tasks on behalf of peers that are out of the office.

  • Provide outstanding and enthusiastic client service and communication both by phone and email. Respond quickly and accurately to requests from inside resources as well as outside vendor/distributor community.

  • Multi-task ongoing activities from multiple people in a fast environment while producing accurate and timely vendor purchases orders.

  • Develop and retain product and industry knowledge to be used to identify expertise. Commitment to developing knowledge and experience.

  • Provide historical order history analysis to COS or Client Manager upon request.

  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.

  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral or from a sales quote
