What does a great Product Owner do?

A Product Champion at Fiserv is a value-driven Agile Product Leader embedded in a software delivery team. They have the autonomy and authority to balance the priorities of the team between Product Management, Technology, Compliance and Senior Leaders. While this role has many similarities to a Scrum Product Owner, we use a blend of Agile Methods (Scrum, XP, Kanban, and Lean) for this role. Find out more!

As a Product Owner, you can look forward to:

  • Working closely with Product Management, Product Development, and their team to help refine and ultimately own the delivery of a product mission

  • Owns the Product and team backlog (technology, features, compliance, everything) and sequences work for the team

  • Interpreting and influencing the strategic vision while implementing the tactical needs of your product

  • Bringing analytical thinking, problem solving, systemic thinking to all that you do for our clients and their customers

  • Being a specialist in what to measure, what level of detail, and why it's important

  • Product strategy advocate embedded inside of the team

  • Collaborates with the product manager and other stakeholders to accomplish the product vision and direction

  • Thinks about all the users (end-users and clients)

Required Qualifications for Consideration:

  • High School Diploma required; Bachelor’s Degree preferred

  • Minimum 3 years of work experience with agile methods (Scrum, Lean, XP)

  • Experience in analyzing, organizing, and integrating large amounts of complex information into clear, concise presentations and plans

  • Experience as an influencer across an organization

  • Solid attention to detail and ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment

  • Previous experience in a product management or ownership role

  • Professional oral and written communication skills

  • Flexibility to work after hours/on-call/weekend as needed basis

  • Travel up to 15% (Post Pandemic)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Financial lending experience strongly preferred

  • Financial industry experience

  • 3+ years of experience working with technology and business teams preferred

  • Experience with Fiserv products – Precision
