Omaha Public Power District Intern - Engineering, Project Mgt, Data Analytics, or Finance - Summer (May-Aug) 2025 in Omaha, Nebraska

Department: Project Management Office

Location: Huddle Space (BCBS) and Hybrid (remote, field, office)

Duration: Summer (May-Aug) 2025

Work Schedule: 8:00am - 4:30pm M-F, 30 min lunch

Pay: $25.06 - $30.63 (per hour)

Job Responsibilities:

This role will present the opportunity to support and participate is a portfolio of project activities and assignments providing field and office experiences from a variety of project management aspects within an electric utility including project management methodology (scope of work schedule, resources, costs, quality), engineering design criteria, construction practices, and other aspects of project execution. Specific activities may include but are not limited to shadowing PMO team members, support of project documentation, update of project dashboards, review of project scope, schedule, costs, and upkeep of various logs (delay, action, risks, lessons learned, etc.).

Qualifications

Specific fields of study required: Engineering, Project Management/Construction, Data Analytics, or Finance

High degree of innovation, creativity, leadership, and communication skills essential.

Ability to read prints.

General engineering, finance, or project management classes

Minimum 2.5 GPA required: 3.0 GPA or higher preferred.

Sophomore Status or Higher

US Citizen or Permanent Resident

Current full-time college student pursuing engineering, project management/construction, data analytics, or finance.

Must be attending an accredited college/university.

Technical Ability (i.e. software):

Microsoft Office Suite of Products

Familiarity with AutoCAD, BlueBeam (PDF), SmartSheet (PM), Primavera tools

Ability to read and understand technical drawings and documents.
