Actalent Engineering Field Technician in OMAHA, Nebraska

Job Title: Engineering Field TechnicianJob Description

As an Engineering Field Technician, you will evaluate soil, rock, and underground water to determine the feasibility and design specifications for construction projects. You will be stationed onsite at Offutt Air Force Base to perform geotechnical analysis and studies to assess construction site conditions. You will also act as a liaison between field crews, project managers, and engineers.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and conduct geotechnical exploration effectively.

  • Perform field and environmental investigations for construction projects.

  • Inspect and check quality and participate in the execution of soil sampling.

  • Analyze geotechnical findings, perform calculations, and prepare data reports for the Project Manager.

  • Provide direction to the technical team in field inspection activities.

  • Interact with customers and team members to complete projects on time.

  • Review construction design proposals and approve geotechnical aspects.

Essential Skills

  • Minimum Associate's degree in Construction Management or Civil Engineering.

  • 1-5 years of commercial construction experience.

  • Experience in construction inspection, observation, and instrumentation.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Preferred experience as an inspector, observer, surveyor, or CMT.

  • Demonstrated successful experience in client service management.

  • Experience in leadership, including setting direction for a team, project, and office.

  • Ability to travel to other offices and project sites as required.

Work Environment

You will spend 20% of your time in-office planning and documenting, and 70% onsite at Offutt Air Force Base, which is a loud, dirty commercial construction site. You will report to the Project Manager in Geotechnical Engineering and act as a liaison between field crews, project managers, and engineers. Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $25.00
