PenFed is hiring a (Hybrid) Director, Home Lending Systems Administration at our San Antonio, Texas; Jacksonville, Florida; Phoenix, Arizona; Tysons, Virginia or Omaha, Nebraska location. The primary purpose of this job is to lead a team of system administrators that manage the support and maintenance for the ICE/Encompass applications and additional originations applications as applicable. This role will be responsible for oversight of system analysis, solution design, systems integration, production support and maintenance, security administration, access controls, systems administration, system testing, and tier one system support. They will partner with the business and IT to ensure business operations are maintained without interruption.

  • Manage the ICE/Encompass application, including bi-monthly releases for enhancements and maintenance. Provide assistance to LOB/end users related to system functionality across Mortgage Originations.

  • Oversight of a team responsible for the building, testing and implementation of new system enhancements such as business rules, custom input forms, workflows, and third-party integrations through advanced coding.

  • Collaborate with ICE/Encompass subject matter experts and business stakeholders to identify and implement solutions.

  • Management of all configuration change management across Mortgage Operations applications.

  • Responsible for any future system upgrades or transition to web functionality.

  • Manage all system activities within Encompass including monitoring of system performance, system issues and user opened ticket.

  • Oversight and audit of user access and security templates.

  • Management of the 1st tier help function for users of Encompass.

  • Management of system performance and advisories from vendors.

  • Management of system tools that improve the end user experience.

  • Act as support liaison between PenFed and ICE.

  • Responsible for problem resolution and issues management oversight.

  • Lead deployments and post-release activities in accordance with PenFed Change Management policies.

  • Coordinate and communicate ICE/Encompass major releases, advising business leadership of potential enhancements and changes to the platform and how they may impact business processes.

  • Systematic review of business processes ensuring use of Mortgage Origination’s system is accurate and conducted in a controlled environment reducing risks for originations, operations, and investors.

  • Reconciliation of all ICE invoices and management of account agreements.

  • Maintains current knowledge of changes in federal and state regulations concerning real estate related lending and changes in guidelines initiated by the National Credit Union Association (NCUA) and other Federal and state government agencies.

  • Working with business areas candidate will envision and create solutions to questions raised by the business area.

  • Work with the business to understand operations to the extent that enables them to provide advisory service for process improvements to maximize the functionality of the ICE/Encompass application.

  • Keep abreast of current technology; research developments in network hardware and software products as they may apply to the business.

  • Ensure appropriate company and departmental Change Control and operational procedures are followed for all production-related updates assigned changes.

  • Remain an active learner in technologies and regulations related to your domain.

  • Lead and/or participate in on-call 24x7 support as needed in the event of a system outage or failure.

Qualifications

An equivalent combination of education and experience is considered.

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred.

  • Minimum of twelve (12) years’ experience in Mortgage Originations with a minimum of four (4) years of direct management experience required.

  • Advanced knowledge of ICE’s Encompass application is required.

  • Experience in mortgage technology, mortgage operations and mortgage compliance which includes federal, state, and GSE guidelines.

  • Must have proven strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to learn new applications from a business and technology perspective.

  • Strong ability to communicate effectively across varied areas including technology, business units and senior leadership.

  • Ability to manage multiple competing priorities under tight deadlines in a fast-paced, dynamic environment; ability to organize time and resources to bring initiatives to successful completion.

  • Strong written, verbal, organizational, and communication skills necessary.

  • Proven project management and executive presentation skills.

  • Experience interacting with and presenting to executive management.

Supervisory Responsibility

This position will supervise employees.

Licenses and Certifications

  • Either the ability to obtain or the possession of Encompass System Admin Certification.

  • Six Sigma Green or Black belt preferred.

Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to an indoor office setting with moderate noise.

Most roles require working in an office setting with moderate noise and the ability to lift 25 pounds.

Travel

The ability to travel to various worksites and be on-call may be required.
