Eaton Corporation Building Assembler - 1st Shift in Omaha, Nebraska

Eaton’s ES AMER ARS PDCAD division is currently seeking a Building Assembler - 1st Shift.

Shift Hours: 6am - 3:30pm Monday - Thursday; 6am - 10am Friday. Overtime in this role may be mandatory at times.

The hourly rate for this position is $19.00 per hour.

What you’ll do:

Position Overview:

This position assembles and constructs electrical substation buildings. These buildings house metering, relaying and transformer components known as medium voltage (5-38kv) switchgear used to distribute power to communities around the country.

In this function you will:

• Work as part of a team to prepare all metal components for construction

• Use prints and measuring devices to ensure accurate fit and alignment of metal components

• Utilized a variety of power and hand tools to install metal and other construction material including: Sheet rock, vapor shields, insulation, and flooring.

• May work at heights to secure walls and roof structures to the building utilizing lifts, scaffolding, and fall arrest systems when working over 6 feet high.

• May assist in additional assembly departments as needed

• May be utilized to paint (liquid paint), and apply spray foam insulation to foundation of the building during the pre-construction phase.

• Inspect all assemblies for loose or missing hardware and cleanliness

• Respond to change notices, customer requested adjustments and development needs

• Focus on safety, customer service, quality, productivity

Qualifications:

Required Qualifications :

• High School diploma or GED from an accredited institution

• Must be able to work in the United States without corporate sponsorship now and within the future

Preferred Qualifications :

• 1-year related experience in construction related environment

• Ability to read and interpret drawings or prints

Position Skill Criteria:

• Working knowledge of the mechanical, electrical, and safety procedures of a manufacturing facility

• Must be comfortable working from ladders or heights

• Will be utilizing overhead cranes but some repetitive lifting of 35+ pounds on a regular basis will occur

• Good problem solving and troubleshooting ability

• Excellent history of work performance, team work and attendance

• Must be willing to work overtime as required, including weekends
