FieldCore Wind Commissioning Lead in Olympia, Washington

Role Summary/Purpose

Commissioning Lead is the technical expert for all start-up testing and commissioning activities on power and co-generation projects in the Wind segment. Responsible for all start-up testing and commissioning activities. Provides a key interface between customer, GE and constructor on all start-up related issues. Manages start-up personnel staffing, EHS requirements for safe to ensure the start-up is performed in professional, efficient and safe manner.

Essential Functions

  • Serve as the FieldCore main point of contact at site.

  • Escalate site-related concerns, as required.

  • Assist with coaching, training, development, and communication to Fieldcore employees in partnership with Resource Management

  • Develop all start-up schedules and resource planning.

  • Ensure compliance with and administer contract in performance of start-up activities.

  • Ensures compliance with Start-up Policies and Procedures.

  • Conduct start-up meetings and interface with Customer, GE and Constructor.

  • Review P&ID's and engineering documents.

  • Maintain System Turnover Packages and transmit to Customer upon system acceptance.

  • Maintain Start-up Daily Log and all office correspondence.

  • Ensure compliance with all site safety regulations.

  • Ensure compliance with all site environmental and construction permits, (as applicable).

  • Utilize customers O&M staff in support of start-up testing activities.

  • Review start-up and commissioning instructions and test procedures

  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Degree in an Electrical, Mechanical or other related technical discipline OR High School Diploma / GED with a minimum of 3 years of experience in a field service role installing and commissioning power generation equipment

  • Possess advanced skills and applies the fundamental concepts, practices and procedures of a particular field of specialization

  • Proven leadership skills and project controls experience to effectively manage a site through a successful commissioning evolution is required.

  • Must posses a valid driving license

Desired Characteristics

  • Expert level. Able to act as a senior company rep on any outage for the unit qualified. Acts as project manager and mentor on complex projects

  • Experience with modeling and analysis programs for wind turbines.

  • Proficient in the use of computers and PC software.

  • Excellent customer, communication, and interpersonal skills

  • Ability to travel extensively in support of global assignments.

  • Fluent in English language.
