Old Dominion Freight Line QA Test Automation Lead in Olympia, Washington

Work with multiple Application Testing Leads and Managers of Application Delivery and their respective teams to understand the application and its test regression suite so that the test case candidates for automation can be created. In coordination with the Manager Application Testing & Performance, the Application Test Automation Lead will be responsible for recommending, defining & implementing Test Automation best practices. Responsible for the development of automated scripts across multiple applications and mobile devices to help ensure the delivery of high-quality software.
Primary Responsibilities
Lead day-to-day operations of the software test automation team, including backlog management and progress reporting
Lead the team in the estimation, design, development, and maintenance of automated test scripts based on application regression test suites
Organize, lead, and monitor multiple priorities and projects on an ongoing basis, evaluating progress and quality, managing risks/issues, and taking corrective action as necessary to meet project deadlines
Work with Application Testing Manager to define priorities and allocate resources
Report progress status of test script development to Application Testing Manager, Delivery Managers and Product Sponsors
Stay current with industry trends and technologies related to software test automation
Mentor and train team members on best practices and new technologies
Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and reduce manual testing
Participate in staff development including hiring, coaching, evaluating performance and disciplinary action
Efficiently manage personal time to prioritize work and multi-task across several project assignments
Assist in the review of test results and in working with project teams to facilitate remediation of defects found
Perform other duties as reasonably required
Pay Range:
$96,745 - $120,930
Job Qualifications:
5+ years of experience in Test Automation scripting
Experience managing a team of software automation engineers
Strong knowledge of Selenium, TestNG, and Appium
Experience with mobile and web application testing
Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
Ability to manage multiple projects and/or priorities successfully to completion
Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field
Experience in application testing in both Agile and Waterfall Agile delivery environment.
Strong attention to detail, strong interpersonal skills, verbal, written and presentation skills.
Naturally driven with a desire to contribute to the success of projects. Takes ownership of responsibilities seriously.
