Description

As a Payroll Specialist, you will be responsible for ensuring our employees are paid correctly and in a timely manner, maintaining accurate records of timekeeping and payroll transactions, and facilitating audits by providing records and documentation to auditors.

Responsibilities:

1. Gather and examine timesheets to ensure accurate employee hours.

2. Calculate accurate paycheck amounts after taking into account overtime, vacation, sick leave, etc.

3. Ensure the correct deductions are made concerning health insurance, retirement plans, and income tax.

4. Prepare and issue paychecks to employees.

5. Resolve any discrepancies surrounding payroll issues.

6. Generate reports for internal stakeholders.

7. Prepare and submit paperwork for tax deductions and benefits packages.

8. Participate in payroll audits.

9. Stay updated with the latest trends in payroll systems and IRS regulations.

   Requirements

10. A minimum of 2 years experience in a payroll officer role or similar.

11. Working knowledge of payroll practices and related laws.

12. Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software as well as payroll software programs.

13. Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).

14. Strong numerical skills and keen attention to detail

15. The ability to handle confidential information.

16. Excellent organizational skills and multi-tasking abilities.

17. Exceptional time-management and problem-solving skills.
