Enterprise Data governance is an area of strategic emphasis for the agency, and is a programmatic service central to WSP's business purpose. The office performs outreach, education, consultation, coordination, and manages technology, contract and policy prescriptions for agency enterprise data management and privacy efforts. The DGPP is responsible for preparing and leading the implementation of a strategic direction for data management within WSP. This program functions at an executive level within WSP, reporting to the Chief Information Officer (CIO). This position will have primary responsibilities and authority to establish the enterprise data management structure, technology/project configuration and contract parameters, policies and procedures, governance, implementation activities, reporting and metrics for WSP's data management environment. This position will report to the Chief Data Officer.

Duties

This position ensures the quality, integrity, and governance of data assets within WSP, and fidelity to data management prescriptions of the agency. They will work closely with data management teams, business stakeholders, and IT professionals to establish and maintain enterprise data standards, definitions, contracts, technologies, policies, and processes.  The position is responsible for the development and maintenance of WSP's data governance framework, establishing/documenting the flow of data both within WSP and between WSP and external entities. The position will work with stakeholders to ensure WSP's data is collected, used, stored, and shared in accordance with all applicable federal and state laws and regulations, including public records retention and disclosure requirements, and other legal obligations. The position is responsible for ensuring that WSP's data is appropriately and efficiently available for both operational and analytical use internally and by partner agencies. This work includes developing, documenting, monitoring, improving and providing training on the enterprise-wide data governance program, policies, and processes. This position will also ensure business processes are in place to provide data that has completeness, integrity, shared definitions, and proper handling to ensure risk is mitigated in turning data into a searchable, shared informational asset. This position's responsibilities also include data quality, data profiling, data cleansing, metadata management, and promoting a data-driven culture throughout the organization. This position is a key advocate for Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) as these principles relate to data management. This position is expected to develop understanding and operational awareness of DEI opportunities within the Data Governance Program. The primary duties of this position include:
