The Natural Areas Program, funded by over $10 million, manages 169,000 acres of conservation lands, including 97 Natural Resource Conservation Areas (NRCAs) and Natural Area Preserves (NAPs), to protect and restore native ecosystems, while allowing for a reduced level of public access in NRCAs.
