The Department of Natural Resources (DNR) Office of Finance, Budget & Economics (OFBE) is looking for a permanent Budget Analyst 4 to provide budget planning and management services across the agency. Our goal is to continue the professional development of any successful candidate, whether fully qualified to begin as a Budget Analyst 4 or beginning your budgetary career as a Budget Analyst 1, we are committed to building our team. We will hire at a level commensurate to the requirements listed below and will train you to be an expert in your field as a Budget Analyst 4. The OFBE Budget Team works to ensure that program activities and funding fit within the broader context of the DNR's mission and goals. As a member of the team, you will work to support financial compliance with state and federal laws, regulations, and reporting requirements, and facilitate the operational effectiveness and financial stability of the Agency's Programs. As a DNR Budget Analyst, you'll be involved in budget planning, development, projections, analysis, and monitoring for agency programs and initiatives. You will serve as a strategic budget expert, providing leadership, research, analysis, and recommendations on complex and often unprecedented budget issues that have budget, policy, and natural resource impact. Qualifications

This may be filled as an in-training position. This is designated as a 6-40 month training plan that may be extended to a maximum of 40 months. If you complete all elements of the training steps in a shorter amount of time, we may waive the remainder of the time required. Candidates will be considered as Budget Analyst 4, Budget Analyst 3 (In-Training)Budget Analyst 2 (In-Training), or Budget Analyst 1 (In-Training) *depending on qualifications. *Budget Analyst 1 (BA4 In-Training) required qualifications * *(Salary range: $3,700-$4,968 per month):

  • Associate's Degree OR current or recent experience as a Budget Analyst 1. OR equivalent education/experience: Additional qualifying experience in professional accounting, budgeting, finance, or public administration may substitute year for year of education.
