Project Manager (Hardware Development)

Part of Global Solutions, Key and Asset Management provide intelligent management solutions for keys and equipment. Our key cabinets & locker solutions help all types of organisation’s better control their important assets, improving productivity & accountability, and reducing risk in critical processes.

What would you do as our Project Manager (Hardware Development)

As our Project Manager, you will manage multiple simultaneous hardware development projects from initial requirements through to production. We are looking for someone who has experience in all stages of hardware product development (including electronics, mechanical and firmware), understands the development process at a technical level and also understands the interactions with external teams to ensure the successful delivery of our projects. You will plan projects that fit in with other team daily activities, understanding the available team resources and how they can be shared across projects at different stages of development.

This is a hybrid working role with at least one day a week in the office (Olney, UK) and the flexibility to work from home depending on project needs.

You would also:

  • Project Manage the full development process of our hardware products from requirements through to delivery, across the development team and external departments

  • Produce and maintain project plans and maintain cross-functional alignment of project status

  • Identify and help resolve planning conflicts or possible delays to projects

  • Help plan project schedules, resource availability and manage stakeholder expectations

  • Organise and maintain project-level documentation and keep up to date with the status of our live projects

    The skills and experience you need

    We are looking for someone who has:

  • Solid experience in managing projects in a product development (R&D) environment, developing physical products

  • Experience managing multiple simultaneous projects

  • Understand the full development lifecycle of electronic products (including mechanical, electronic and firmware design)

  • Strong communication and documentation skills as well as excellent time management and planning skills

  • Experience with a project planning tool, such as MS Project

    It would be beneficial if you have experience with Atlassian Confluence/Jira as well as a technical background in electronics or mechanical engineering.
