Del Norte Harvesting, LLC Farmworker/Laborer in Olivia, Minnesota

Need 5 full time, temporary, seasonal Farmworker to work in Olivia, MN. From: 09/22/2024 - 10/31/2024 Work: 36 hrs./week, Mon. - Sat. 6 hrs./day. 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. No work required on the worker s Sabbath or Federal holidays, but work is required six (6) hours per day Monday through Saturday. All applicants must be able (with or without reasonable accommodation), willing, and qualified to perform all the work described, and must be available for the entire anticipated period of employment. All hours worked in excess of 48 hours in a work week will be paid at 1.5 times the regular rate of pay. Effective Jan 1, 2024, per MN State Statute, employee will earn one hour of paid sick and safe time for every 30 hours worked, up to at least 48 hours of accrued Earned Sick and Safe Time (ESST) a year. Must Apply By: 10/12/2024 JOB DUTIES: Fall Harvest Worker - Worker will walk down the aisles between the plants in the corn field for the purpose of husking or hand harvesting the ears of corn. Worker will also collect ears of corn in harvest bags and properly label and tag bags. Worker will also need to be able to lift/carry full bags which can weigh up to 35 pounds. (Hands on training will be provided on site.) Worker must be able to walk the duration of the day while performing the specified job. Must be able to work long hours, at least 6 hours a day in all kinds of weather, hot or cold weather, rain and muddy conditions, and will be exposed to pollen the whole day and be in possession of the requisite strength and endurance, working skillfully with their hands. Workers should be able to work on their feet in bent positions for long periods of time. Allergies to ragweed, goldenrod, etc. may affect workers ability to perform the job. Workers should be physically able to do the work required with or without reasonable accommodations. Workers are exposed to wet weather early in the morning and heat throughout the day while working in the fields. Temperatures may range from 30-100F. Workers may be required to work during occasional showers not severe enough to stop field operations. Use of personal cell phone or other personal electronic device during working hours strictly prohibited except for work-related calls or emergencies. JOB REQUIREMENTS: Three (3) months experience. Must be able to lift and carry 35 lbs. Must be able to work on your feet, in extreme weather, with extensive, pushing, pulling, sitting or walking, frequent stooping or bending over, and repetitive movements. Pre-hire criminal background check at employer's expense at employer's expense. Random drug/alcohol tests at employer's expense. Failure to comply with the request or testing positive may result in immediate termination. No minimum education required. EMPLOYER ASSURANCES: Work guaranteed for 3/4 of contract period, starting with date of arrival at work site. Employer provides free housing for workers whose residence is beyond normal commuting distance. Employer pays inbound transportation and subsistence to work site upon 50% completion of work contract for workers whose residence is beyond normal commuting distance. Daily subsistence will be provided at a rate of at least $15.88 per day during travel to a maximum of $59.00 per day with receipts.
