Minimum Qualifications Minimum Qualifications: A minimum of a Bachelor's degree (foreign equivalent or higher) from an accredited college or university.Three (3) to five (5) years of significant professional administrative experience in a business office or academic setting supporting a position of senior leadership.Proficient in Microsoft Office suite (Word/Outlook/Excel).Strong verbal, written, listening and communication skills.Strong interpersonal skills.Exceptional organization skills.Exceptional time management skills and the ability to meet deadlines.Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality and navigate complex situations.Preferred Qualifications: Master's degree (foreign equivalent or higher) from an accredited college or university.Five (5) years of significant professional administrative experience in an academic setting.Experience in using higher education academic systems, i.e., Ellucian Banner.Experience using Ellucian Banner, SUNY Business Intelligence, DegreeWorks, Interview Exchange and Interfolio.Experience using SUNY procurement systems, SUNY vendor sourcing.Project management experience and digital sharing/cloud management experience.

Duties Description The Assistant to the Provost and Senior Vice President for Academic Affairs provides a broad range of professional and academic administrative services for the Office of the Provost. Responsibilities range from generalized administrative office tasks such as managing the Provost Office, managing the Provost's calendar to specific professional responsibilities related to the work of the Provost. The Assistant to the Provost will represent the Provost's Office on various campus wide projects and/or committees as required. Manages/administers projects related to academic issues and initiatives. Primary responsibilities include communication and tracking of reappointments, continuing appointments, course release, sabbaticals, chair designations, promotions, extra service requests, adjunct appointments, maintains database of appointment, reappointment, promotion and tenure (ARPT) review schedule, records and tracks all searches of vacant positions conducted within the division of Academic Affairs, maintains budgets, faculty rosters, prepares reports, assists in the coordination of faculty orientation, receptions, and other meetings. Additional responsibilities include administrative supervision of other professional and clerical personnel assigned to the office, facilitating interdepartmental relations, and assisting with faculty and student relations. The incumbent implements, monitors, and supervises customer service interactions for the Office of the Provost inclusive of internal and external entities to ensure customer service expectations are met.The incumbent will have excellent customer skills, ability to build exceptional relationships and work collaboratively, maintaining effective working relationships with high-level campus administrators and staff. The successful candidate will be highly professional, collaborative, meticulously detail oriented and efficient. The Assistant to the Provost will work to facilitate initiatives as directed by the Provost.
