We welcome you to join the Nursing team as a Medical Assistant . The Medical Assistant - Occupational Health (MA) provides support to the Employee Health Services department by performing administrative tasks and patient care activities to facilitate a positive onboarding experience, ensure that new hires and associates are safe and able to perform their assigned duties, assist with the workers compensation program, and assist with various compliance programs. You will perform administrative tasks including: greeting, providing information to, and responding to questions for associates, new hires, contractors and visitors, answering telephones calls, scheduling visits, and providing information; preparing and maintaining electronic employee health records and OSHA logs, and other related tasks. You will perform clinical tasks including: maintains exam rooms, instruments and supplies; performs onboarding screening and care and triage for injured associates, monitors vaccine and respiratory surveillance programs. Documents appropriately and timely in the medical record; coordinates with the Workers Compensation case management and Occupational Health Provider(s) regarding the associate treatment plan.
High School or GED Minimum
1 - 3 Years Experience in a clinic performing patient care Minimum
Other: Previous Occupational medicine experience preferred including performing drug screens, hearing test, and breath alcohol test. Minimum
Experience utilizing electronic health records. (Minimum proficiency)
Outlook, Word, and Excel knowledge (Minimum proficiency)
Healthcare Provider CPR – (American Heart Association or American Red Cross ONLY) Minimum 7 Days
Other: Medical Assistant Program Minimum 120 Days
Other: DOT drug screen and BAT certification Minimum 30 Days
Adheres to and/or maintains departmental policies and procedures, to be regulatory compliant with TJC, OSHA, safety standards, or other regulatory agencies.
