Boeing Talent Acquisition and Spares Engineering is currently looking for a Systems Engineer 3: Spares Engineering to support project integration activities within BGS Spares Engineering Group and join their team in Oklahoma City, OK.
The qualified candidate will drive the implementation of Spares Engineering technical improvements through automation and process enhancements, grow and improve global work placement, and develop and implement necessary metrics to ensure alignment across the business.
A successful candidate will understand the importance of collaboration and will lead the continuous improvement of processes and strategies across our Commercial and Defense teams and with our customers. The candidate will work in a fast-paced, diverse work environment and support teammates across 4 sites (St. Louis, Oklahoma City, Mesa and Southern California).
Leads engineering and operational process improvements using Lean+ principles and the Boeing Problem Solving Model to improve program execution and delivery, increase productivity, maintain first time quality, and accelerate proposal turn-around time & execute-ability of new business pursuits.
Leads the planning, organization, implementation, and monitoring of a variety of special projects, such as tool process & RAA development, global work placement strategies/execution and BGS synergy and offset projects
Develops solutions for data repositories, workflow tools and metric management to support business needs
Resolves cross-functional technical and operational issues and supports development of recovery plans, alternative options, and risk mitigation plans
Provides analytics of projects culminating with lessons learned and historical reports for incorporation across programs and into future projects
Generates insights from quantitative and qualitative technical and operational data to explain implications on business execution and develops data analysis tools to assist executive decision making
Investigates, performs assessments, applies judgment and presents innovative recommendations to executive Leadership
Export Control Requirement:
This position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a “US Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.15 is required. “US Person” includes US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee. Employer will not sponsor applicants for employment visa status.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
Bachelor’s degree or higher in an Engineering field of study
5+ years of experience working in a cross-functional environment including engineering, manufacturing/operations, quality, product support, finance, business development and program management
3+ years of experience in an Engineering role
1+ years demonstrated ability to work both independently and collaboratively
Experience using or applying metrics to measure performance against projects to ensure high quality delivery
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
3+ years of experience in a Spares Engineering related role
3+ years of experience working with Supply Chain and/or Defense customers
Typical Education & Experience:
Degree and typical experience in an engineering classification: Bachelor's and 5 or more years' experience, Master's degree with 3 or more years' experience or PhD degree with experience. Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry. ABET is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
