A Field Mechanic will repair vehicles, equipment, and machinery by performing the following duties.
Responsibilities:
- Must be prepared to travel.
- Crawls under or climbs in or on vehicles or equipment for maintenance and repair inspections.
- Repairs, removes, and replaces moving parts and other components of vehicles, equipment or machinery.
- Disassembles, repairs, removes, and replaces parts of engines, transmissions, drive assemblies, brakes, and clutches of vehicles, equipment or machinery.
- Tunes, adjusts, and regulates equipment engines, valves, pumps, carburetors and other mechanical components with variable setting.
- Lubricates and services vehicles, equipment or machinery and maintains accurate records of such service.
- Requests repair parts and lubrication supplies as needed.
- Helps workers of other crafts when not engaged in lubrication, service, maintenance and repair work.
- All other duties as assigned
Requirements:
- Certificate from college or technical school; or twelve months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Must have valid driver\'s license.
- Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds
- Good driving record is required.
- May require certification for certain types of equipment repairs.
