Job Description
The Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) team delivers mission-critical applications for top tier enterprises around the world. Our cloud offers unmatched hyper-scale, multi-tenant services deployed in more than 30 regions worldwide. We are looking for a senior, tech-savvy leader to continue our rapid growth by managing and growing a motivated, collaborative team of top-notch technical talent. You should be a distributed systems generalist, able to architect broad systems interactions, while being very hands-on, able to dive deep into any part of the stack and lower-level system interactions. You should value simplicity and scale, work comfortably in a collaborative, agile environment, and be excited to learn. This role offers a terrific opportunity to own and build distributed services that enable multi-cloud and hybrid-cloud applications with unmatched performance, scale, and reliability.
This position is responsible for driving the technical direction for across Oracle Cloud Infrastructure’s Services. This is a strategic technology role, with technical responsibility for solution/product development across all Oracle Cloud services and the platforms. The role will have a specific focus on building products & solutions specifically for Enterprise use in the areas of Operational Fleet management at scale including Security and Employee Experience services such as Endpoints and secure connectivity.
Responsibilities
Specific responsibilities include:
Design and build customer-facing cloud services that are scalable, reliable, and performant.
Regular communication with C-level executives, including technology reviews.
Foster and maintain strong/positive relationships across other groups and teams within Oracle.
Ensure successful technology releases based on team, division and company priorities.
Stay abreast of the latest innovations in the cloud technology space and apply them as appropriate.
Lead by example, setting a clear culture of teamwork, high expectations, success and customer focus.
Recruit and retain the best technical talent for OCI.
Take responsibility for horizontal initiatives across Oracle, including next-generation system definitions, and drive adoption over multiple business
Strong communication skills, analytical skills, thorough understanding of software engineering.
Develop senior-level customer & partner relationships as required
Preferred Skills and Experience
Exceptional communication skills, technically fearless and a strong product sense with the ability to seek and absorb business context, lead, and develop engineering culture, and exhibit good judgement exercised through developed critical thinking.
15+ years’ experience delivering and operating large scale, highly available distributed systems.
Strong knowledge of C, C++ or Java, and experience with scripting languages such as Python, Perl, etc.
Strong knowledge of data structures, algorithms, operating systems, and distributed systems fundamentals.
Working familiarity with networking protocols (TCP/IP, HTTP) and standard network architectures.
Strong understanding of databases, NoSQL systems, storage, and distributed persistence technologies.
Experience building multi-tenant, virtualized infrastructure a strong plus.
Education
A Bachelors’ degree is preferred. An advanced degree is a plus.

Range and benefit information provided in this posting are specific to the stated location(s)
California Pay Range: from $166,700 to $384,000 per annum. May be eligible for bonus, equity, and compensation deferral.
Colorado Pay Range: from $167,600 to $345,600 per annum. May be eligible for bonus, equity, and compensation deferral.
New York City Pay Range: from $171,700 to $364,800 per annum. May be eligible for bonus, equity, and compensation deferral.
Washington Pay Range: from $163,500 to $364,800 per annum. May be eligible for bonus, equity, and compensation deferral.
Oracle maintains broad salary ranges for its roles in order to account for variations in knowledge, skills, experience and market conditions, as well as reflect Oracle’s differing products, industries and lines of business.
Candidates are typically placed into the range based on the preceding factors as well as internal peer equity.

Paid time off: Flexible Vacation is provided to all eligible employees assigned to a salaried (non-overtime eligible) position. Accrued Vacation is provided to all other employees eligible for vacation benefits. For employees working at least 35 hours per week, the vacation accrual rate is 13 days annually for the first three years of employment and 18 days annually for subsequent years of employment. Vacation accrual is prorated for employees working between 20 and 34 hours per week. Employees working fewer than 20 hours per week are not eligible for vacation.

Paid sick leave: 72 hours of paid sick leave upon date of hire. Refreshes each calendar year. Unused balance will carry over each year up to a maximum cap of 112 hours.
