Robert Half HR Generalist in Okatie, South Carolina

Description We are in search of a HR Generalist to join our team in Okatie, South Carolina. The role involves coordinating the human resource and payroll process across various business and client locations, with a strong emphasis on Employee Engagement. This position will work closely with the HR and Payroll management teams and will involve a broad range of HR/Payroll functions, including recruiting, onboarding, benefits administration, HRIS data integrity, and full-cycle payroll.

Responsibilities:

• Maintain and update New Hire Documents/Packages, focusing on Benefit Information

• Meet with New Hires to complete paperwork and ensure data integrity

• Process New Hire paperwork and set up New Hires on HRIS

• Handle job postings, screening, and forwarding of resumes to Managers as needed

• Conduct Background Checks and Drug Screenings

• Assist with Benefit Employee Coverage Rosters, and ensure timely and accurate payroll deductions

• Provide first-tier customer service to Employees and Managers for various requests

• Support administrative tasks and advanced report writing from HRIS based on requests

• Maintain processes to ensure information is communicated between HR and Payroll as needed

• Respond to outside agency surveys, employment verifications, auditors, etc.

• Assist the HR Manager with the preparation of human resources reporting

• Learn the payroll process specific to new clients including setting up new companies in HRIS

• Process bi-weekly payrolls as directed in support of Payroll Manager Requirements

• Proven experience as an HR Generalist of at least 3 years

• Knowledge of HR functions including compensation and benefit administration, compliance, and employee relations

• Familiarity with Paycom HR management software

• Understanding of EEOC regulations and Federal Employment Law

• Solid experience with HR reporting and data analysis

• Proficiency in handling withholdings and full cycle payroll for 101-500 employees

• Knowledge of local payroll tax regulations

• Understanding of Equal Pay Act and Affordable Care Act (ACA) Reporting

• Ability to develop fair HR policies and ensure all employees understand and comply with them

• Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

• Bachelor's degree in human resources, business administration, or a related field is preferred but NOT required

• HR certification (e.g. PHR, SPHR) would be a plus.
