DESCRIPTION OF WORK:

The role involves conducting independent inspections on construction and/or bridge projects to ensure compliance, while promptly notifying the supervisor of any issues or concerns that may arise. The work carried out is then reviewed by the supervisor to assess the results obtained, ensuring quality and accuracy in the inspection process. Additionally, this position plays a key role in preparing technical work related to construction inspection for road and bridge projects, with the primary objective of ensuring adherence to contract specifications. This involves assisting in inspections across all phases of transportation construction work, including checking grades, elevations, structure stake-out, and roadway stake-out in collaboration with the contractor/surveyor. Furthermore, the position involves assisting in the inspection of material placement, which includes but is not limited to cement concrete, bituminous concrete, drainage materials, and all other relevant materials. This comprehensive approach to inspection helps to guarantee that all construction work meets the required standards and specifications, contributing to the overall success of the projects.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment
  • Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
  • Vendor Controlled Schedule
  • Work Project Location could be Multi County within District 1-0 (Erie, Crawford, Mercer, Forest, Venango and Warren). Headquarters is Oil City, Pennsylvania.
  • Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time ad hoc during the winter season. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Oil City.
  • Salary:In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
  • An associate degree in surveying, drafting, designing, civil, or any other appropriate field of engineering technology.
  • Applicants will be considered to have met the educational requirements once they are within 6 months of graduating with a qualifying degree.
  • Other Requirements:
  • This particular position requires possession of a valid Class C Driver's License.
