What You'll Do:

  • Support elemental analysis of materials.

  • Assist with material testing using industry standard test methods.

  • Interpret Data/Help solve problems/Guide customers to practical solutions to get their problems taken care of.

  • Collaborate with other team members to summarize data in report format.

  • Present test data to visitors and clients in a timely and accurate manner.

  • Occasionally handle biohazardous materials.

  • Other duties as assigned.

What You'll Need:

Requirements:

  • Associate degree in STEM related field or equivalent hands-on materials testing in a laboratory setting.

  • Understanding of materials science concepts, focused on identification of polymers, metals and unknown materials.

  • Ability to react to change productively and handle other essential tasks and responsibilities as assigned.

  • Experience operating sophisticated lab equipment.

  • High attention to detail and strong organizational skill.

  • Strong working knowledge of MS (Excel, Word, Power Point).

  • Strong communication, analytical problem solving, and conceptual design skills.

  • Strong Microsoft Office skills.

  • Able to quickly learn laboratory techniques and work well under pressure.

  • Presentation skills (customer tours, sales/marketing tours, etc.).

Preferred:

  • Minimum of 1-year prior materials analysis experience.

  • Familiarity with fundamentals of GD&T.

  • Minimum of 1-year prior experience with SEM, FTIR, optical microscopes, Raman spectrometry, and microhardness testers.

  • Demonstrated knowledge of sample preparation techniques such as: epoxy mold preparation, vacuum chamber operation, use of polishing equipment and/or etching of metals.

  • Understanding of biocompatibility analysis via simulated extractions and particulate examination.

  • Experience working in a highly regulated industry.

An equivalent combination of education and experience may be accepted in lieu of above.
