Weber State University Internship - Rental & Technical Training in OGDEN, Utah

Summary:This is a part-time,28-hour-a-week internship lasting approximately one year with a potential housing stipend included,dependent upon meeting the requirements. The Intern Outdoor Program Rental & Technical Training Center will assist the Outdoor Program Coordinator in running a comprehensive Outdoor Program and will directly oversee the Rental Center and Technical Training Center staff.ResponsibilitiesArea Management:In collaboration with the Coordinator,organize,manage,and supervise the daily operations of the Outdoor Program Rental Center and Technical Training CenterAssist in the growth and development of the Outdoor ProgramAssist with damaged equipment and repair & inventory and inspectionsManage rental equipment bi-annual inventory among hourly staffTraining and working with Student ManagersPlan and implement Summer Training/Winter TrainingHire and training new staffSchedule all hourly staff using the scheduling program WhenToWorkArea Specific Responsibilities:Technical Training Center: Take a leadership role in the Technical Training Center,including the climbing wall and work-at-height programs. Oversee maintenance and inspection of the Technical Training Center and all associated equipment. Work with the student manager on hiring and training new staff. Administrative duties include updating inventory/inspection logs,using WhenToWork to schedule hourly staff,and overall budgeting and marketing for the TTC.Rental Center: Take a leadership role in the Rental Center. Oversee inventory,maintenance,and inspection of all equipment. Work with the student manager on hiring and training new staff. Administrative duties include working with the Coordinator on preseason orders,RentMaster and TouchNet reconciliations,using WhenToWork to schedule hourly staff,and overall budgeting and marketing for the Rental Center.Administrative Duties:Perform reconciliations between TouchNet and RentMaster.Updating equipment,policies,and procedure manuals as neededResearch and update equipment rental costs based on other higher educational institutions and local rental businessesWork with the marketing team on creating and managing eventsRecruit,hire,train,schedule,and supervise hourly staffAnalytical skills to identify problems,assess alternatives,and render consistent,logical decisionsHold regular office hoursOther Responsibilities:Attend all required trainings and meetingsMaintain the highest level of proficiency in facility policies,emergency response,and EAPAssist with all staff training,including but not limited to new hires,summer training,and winter trainingAdditional responsibilities as assignedEvening/weekend work responsibilities as required
