WEBER COUNTY CORP Election Worker in OGDEN, Utah

WAGE: $16.22 DEPARTMENT: Elections PERSONNEL STATUS: Part Time BENEFITS: None

OVERVIEW :

As an Election Worker, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth and fair conduct of elections. Election Workers are responsible for assisting with processing and verifying ballots, ensuring they are handled securely and in compliance with election laws. You will be trained to operate ballot processing equipment, maintain confidentiality, and follow protocols to address any discrepancies. Your work will directly support the accuracy and integrity of the election process. This position requires flexibility with scheduling, including evenings and weekends as needed. YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES :

Assist with the processing and validation of ballots, following all election procedures and protocols.

Ensure accurate and timely handling of election materials.

Operate ballot processing equipment to review, scan, and tabulate votes.

Maintain the confidentiality and security of all election-related documents.

Collaborate with the election team to resolve discrepancies or issues as they arise.

Report any procedural concerns or irregularities to the supervisor.

Provide support for general election tasks as needed.

Other duties as assigned.

ABOUT YOU :

Education: High school graduate or equivalent.

Experience: Election/Poll experience preferred but not required.

Knowledge: Knowledge of modern office practices and procedures. Basic Computer literacy.

Skills: Strong attention to detail and the ability to follow procedures accurately; Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Abilities: Ability to handle confidential information with discretion. Ability to remain calm and professional in a fast-paced environment.

SPECIAL QUALIFICATIONS

Must be a registered voter in Weber County.

All Election Workers must attend a mandatory training session before Election Day.

Due to the nature of this position, the successful candidate may be required to complete a pre-employment background check prior to starting the position.
