Mount Sinai South Nassau is seeking a full-time Vice Chair of Operations of the Emergency Department!

The Vice Chair of Operations of the Emergency Department will report to the ED Chairman and will oversee the day-to-day operations and ED throughput and join a professional, dedicated staff. The Vice Chair of Operations of the Emergency Department will be responsible for strategic planning, staff development and be a service oriented and patient experience focused leader. You will be responsible for collaborating with the ED Chair, Hospital, and Nursing leadership while offering support to the ED staff. Not only will you serve as a leader within the emergency department, you will also serve as a leader within the organization. The Vice Chair of Operations of the Emergency Department job requires prior leadership experience in the Emergency Department, working knowledge of accreditation, safety, quality improvement, shared governance and project management and the ability to demonstrate participatory leadership style, successful strategic planning & analytic problem solving.
Qualifications
Medical Degree from an Accredited University
Current New York Medical License
Board Certified in Emergency Medicine
Clinical experience preferred
Excellent communication, bedside manner, and organizational skills
A strong work ethic and desire to participate in a team-oriented, performance driven Health System
Compensation ranges from $300K to $365K (not including bonuses / incentive compensation or benefits)

Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialties, historical productivity, historical collections, and hospital/community need. The salary range listed is for full-time employment and does not include bonuses / incentive compensation or benefits.

EMR currently Allscripts transitioning to EPIC November 2025 with dragon
Level II trauma center
Currently primary stroke center soon to be comprehensive stroke center
24/7 in-house Intensivists, Radiology reads, Trauma, Hospitalists, Anesthesia and OB
Internal medicine, surgery, OB and podiatry residency programs.
