Job Overview:
The Application Analyst IV is primarily responsible for supporting the design and build of the designated application. As an expert level analyst, they serve as resource for the other Analyst staff as well as operations and other customers. They work independently and ensure the prioritization of build, testing and projects as established by management are maintained and executed. The Application Analyst IV is responsible for the installation, upgrades and the configuration of the application. The Application Analyst IV takes on more of the complex coordination of customer support activities. The Application Analyst IV creates the test scripts for the application, executes the test scripts, and documents all test outcomes, including advanced troubleshooting skills and support these activities apply to implementation, upgrade, and maintenance initiatives. The Application Analyst IV is responsible for addressing customer or build issues, recommending mitigation plans and escalating more complex issues above their knowledge base. The Application Analyst IV also provides on-call support for the application through go-live and ongoing maintenance period.
Qualifications:
Required:
5+ years of relevant work experience
Associate s degree
Demonstrated ability to support and develop the application and mentor others
Knowledge of current clinical (or financial) system workflows and processes
Ability to handle complex work independently
Preferred:
6+ years prior system build experience
2+ years of relevant experience functioning in a leadership capacity with leading teams and workgroups
Bachelor s degree or equivalent years of relevant work experience
knowledge of current clinical (or financial) system workflows and processes
Certifications and Licenses:
Epic Ambulatory Certification required
Epic Beacon Certification preferred
Applicant is expected to maintain certification as current by completing New Version Training (NVT), as applicable.
For certain clinical applications, clinical licensure is preferred and may be required as specified in Job Aid.
Essential Functions:
The Application Analyst IV is the primary support for the assigned application(s). In addition to the duties discussed in the Role Description, the Analyst is responsible for the following:
1) Executing Application Design and Build:
Designing and building the related application
Coordinates with Operations to optimize the design of the application s capabilities and workflows
Utilizes external resources for best practice builds and solutions
Performing a thorough review of all Foundation Build and operational requested content and workflows for application
Investigates, documents, and evaluates current state workflows as it pertains to build and offers technology solutions for workflow enhancements in collaboration with analyst peers, training staff and other stakeholders.
Building data fields, screens, templates, and customer-defined functionality, as required
Collaborates with the training team and others to ensure alignment between the proposed training curriculum and the system build.
Oversees and/or performs analysis of necessary application modifications
Takes initiative to offer solutions to complex issues research performed
Following build standards and maintaining synchronization between environments in collaboration with environment team
Works with minimal to no supervision, demonstrates initiative and demonstrates self-direction
Acts as a resource for all analysts on the team
Identifies topics for Change Readiness demo s and creates documentation
2) Application Support:
Providing go-live support for customers on new applications, including functionality
Providing on-call support for application through go-live and post go-live
Representing application in Integrated Area Workgroups
Possesses expert knowledge of subject matter
Collaborates with customers, informatics on enhancement request requirements
Supporting continuous documentation of system modifications and updates
Handles complex issues
Assists Application Manager/Lead in Service Now ticket triage and assessment.
In conjunction with Application Lead and Manager, manages Service Now ticket SLA s
Takes initiative to problem solve within job scope
Shares knowledge functions as a mentor for staff
Validates work performed by newly certified or new work by level 1 & 2 Analysts as required
Keeps knowledge of industry trends, application enhancement and future impact to enterprise
3) Documentation and Communication:
Maintaining continued ticket communication with customers ongoing and with closing incident, catalog and enhancement tickets Must include details in ticket resolution/closing.
Contacting the customer regarding ticket resolution if resolved or unable to fill request.
Logging decisions and issues/risks in trackers during build/projects
Supporting application governance needs, including development of business case for decisions
Maintaining version control of workflows, issues/risks log, and decisions tracker
Supervising basic issues and roadblocks, escalating issues as needed
Communicating with supervisors to determine necessary escalations
Presents oral and written communication to project team
Excellent presentation skills
4) Project Management:
Recommending areas for process improvement
Develops future state materials
Project manages large and integrated items
Following the process for identification, tracking, resolution, and closure of all issues
Ensures that the team follows change control processes according to policy
Collaborates with team members across the department as well as operational staff
Develops test scripts and new systems, complying with version upgrades and system modifications
