The role.

  • Contact customers to confirm receipt of invoices, secure payment and follow up on overdue balances

  • Manage portfolio assigned to reduce Days Sales Outstanding and past dues and provide updates to management

  • Research and analyze accounts (eg. payment habits, sales history and previous collection steps) prior to contacting debtors

  • Follow up with various departments to resolve customer issues relating to billing and disputes

  • Monitor and analyze portfolio activity and results

  • Prioritize efforts and determine the most effective means of collections

  • Address customer correspondence external and internal and complete related forms

  • Process credit card payments and support cheque handling procedure

  • Reconcile customer accounts using SAP information and reports

  • Request appropriate adjustments and corrections keeping accurate accounting records for each transaction

  • Act as customer interface and point of contact for the cash application team relating to payment allocation including follow-up of unresolved debit notes and invoicing disputes

  • Maintain detailed online documentation of collection action taken and correspondence between customer (external and internal) regarding issues impacting payment

  • Compile monthly and portfolio reports as required

  • Recommend customers to legal or third-party action as deemed necessary including consideration of debtor’s financial position and potential risk to the company

  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with both internal and external customers

  • Always communicate professionally with appropriate etiquette

  • Provide excellent customer service and collaborate with multiple parties

  • Contribute to credit and collections and related projects in support of Siemens local and global initiatives

Your profile.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills: Bilingual (English and French preferred)

  • 1-3-5 years of collections experience preferably with knowledge of construction/subcontractor collections and construction lien act

  • University/College degree or Certified Credit Professional CCP designation may be considered in lieu of experience

  • Customer service driven and results oriented

  • Analytical detail-oriented and organized

  • Works well in a fast-paced dynamic environment

  • Professional communication and appropriate etiquette always required

  • Intermediate Excel skills preferred

  • Knowledge of SAP a plus
