The Data Operations Manager drives the strategic on-going operational management of Clorox’s first party data asset. The Data Operations Manager will:
• Serve as point of contact for all Clorox 1PD related integrations and maintenance needs, for both internal and external facing partners; managing data delivery needs coming in and out of Clorox’s CDP and Data Lake.
• Proactively manage 1PD integration health and data quality, ensuring continuous, relatively uninterrupted use of data – in partnership with cross-functional partners.
• Ensure success of data privacy compliance practices and workflows; supporting businesses, vendors and agencies with guidance on data privacy laws like CCPA, GDPR.
• Develop, institutionalize and educate the organization on a strategic Data Operations community of practice, with a focus on data operations best practices and standards, operational compliance, etc.
• Nurture productive relationships with cross-functional partners, both internal and external, in an effort to break organization siloes and push the work forward.
• Provide strategic leadership and mentorship for the Data Operations team.
• Actively project manage across the Data Operations pipeline, balancing strategic value, relative effort, and criticality/urgency, while managing expectations across the organization.
• Elevate the organization’s IQ around data operations via education and training
This is a strategic capability-building role that requires collaboration with several cross-functional internal teams (incl. but not limited to Brand, Brand Engagement, Data Strategy, Legal and IT). The Data Operations Manager will also own and manage key external relationships such as various vendor or marketing technology partners. Lastly, the Data Operations Manager will partner closely with other members of the Consumer Data Enablement team to further evolve data capabilities for all of Marketing.
Overall Management Of 1st Party Data Integration and Storage:
Manage data integration health and maintenance of Clorox’s 1PD datalake, CDP and multiple downstream platforms within the Clorox 1PD ecosystem, in partnership with the Data Engineer and other tech leads; help maintain connections by alerting and bringing in the right team members and partners to resolve any outages or updates needed.
Partner with Brands, Data Strategist, Engineers/tech leads, and external vendor teams to ensure 1PD is collected, formatted, and stored within internal consumer data platforms and systems in a manner that supports/enables data portability and ultimately marketing use cases.
Act as an internal 1PD subject matter expert - the point person for knowing what data we have with our external partners, in the data lake, and CDP; understanding how data comes in and out. Owns and maintains the data dictionary for the Clorox datalake.
Serve as Product Owner Proxy for Clorox’s datalake and operational CDP, within an agile working environment. Help manage day to day prioritization of feature requirements for continuous enhancements and releases with input from the Consumer Data Enablement Lead.
Build and maintain new processes related to 1PD integration and storage. Develop and oversee QA processes during implementation and on-going. Ensure the continuous, uninterrupted use of 1PD. Troubleshoot and resolve barriers as needed in a timely and effective manner.
Prioritize the holistic Data Ops team’s pipeline based on business needs and use cases.
Partner with Marketing Operations to serve as stakeholder for data prioritization: helps estimate level of effort, timing, risks/statuses for all data connections and maintenance projects.
In partnership with Clorox IT and/or external vendors, standardize technical requirements. Institutionalize those best practices and ensure on-going conformity.
Manage user access for Clorox’s datalake and CDP.
Secure and Efficient Delivery of 1PD for Marketing Use Cases:
Responsible for delivery of 1PD to both data vendors and onboarding partners, on-time, within budget and in a privacy compliant manner. Proactively manage cross-functional stakeholders expectations when it comes to 1PD delivery.
Relationship owner for data integration technology partners like LiveRamp and Leadsbridge; overseeing the day to day as well as the larger account management. Track usage and budget (forecast and actuals), in partnership with internal Clorox stakeholders such as Media.
Partner with cross-functional stakeholders and the Data Operations Privcacy coordinator to oversee data compliant processes and workflows that ensure Clorox is continuously compliant with any local, regional or national legislature or policy – specifically GDPR and CCPA.
Establish processes and standards that mitigate potential risk or maximize potential through-put of the team. Examples include policies around data transfer security or integrity, standards when sending or receiving data, any process or contracts that are included as part of the practice.
Identify new technologies needed to support the delivery of Clorox 1PD, as needed, in partnership with Clorox IT and MarTech.
Help educate the broader organization around Consumer Data Ops. Be an evangelist for the capability and support the growth of the team:
Day-to-day management of the Data Operations team; incl. managing their priorities, career progression, removing roadblocks, championing their work, providing feedback, etc.
Develop and lead training to improve Consumer Data operations awareness and aptitude through the Marketing organization to maximize value creation.
Educate business partners and key partners (internal and external) by rolling-out relevant how-to’s, guidelines or best practices as it relates to data integration.
Serve as subject matter expert in data integration related matters (trends or innovations) as well as related emerging technologies that could help evolve Clorox’s data integration practice.
Coordinate and collaborate with the broader CDE and MDATE teams to maximize potential and reach of Data Ops capability.

Passion for digital, innovation, and/or technology with a purpose
Minimum Bachelor’s degree
5-10 years of experience in Marketing Operations, Digital Project Management, ideally at CPG brand
In-depth knowledge of technologies and processes involved with the following technology platforms:
Data management platforms (e.g. Oracle, Krux, Turn, etc.)
Data onboarding vendor (Liveramp, etc.)
Database platforms (Merkle, Epsilon, Sql)
Tagging concepts (GTM, Adobe, ghostery)
Proven experience providing (high level) technical requirements and features (e.g. tagging, data architecture and database management)
