About this role

Responsible for ensuring treatment for chemically dependent patients, establishing and maintaining individual counseling group therapy or self-help groups, and maintaining open communication and behavioral health in treatment plans in compliance with all applicable facility and company standards and state and federal rules and regulations. Adheres to corporate mission statement regarding patient care and ensures that all staff does the same. Responsible for all regulatory reporting to corporate as well as unusual events. Responsible for the overall management of the clinic to include patient care as well as daily operations and administrations and other duties assigned by management.

What you bring to the table


  • Master’s Degree in Social Work, Marriage & Family Counseling required or

  • Doctorate in Psychology required


  • 1 year experience in healthcare management

  • 3 years’ experience working with the substance use disorder population (state specific)

  • Previous correctional/detention facility experience preferred


One of the following licenses within the state of employment is required:

  • Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT)

  • Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW)

  • Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC)

  • Licensed Educational Psychologist (LEP)

  • Licensed Psychologist (Licensed by the Board of Psychology)

What you will do

  • Responsible for the implementation of all M.A.T. policies and procedures.

  • Evaluates patients for enrollment into the M.A.T. program; refer to M.A.T. provider as clinically indicated.

  • Refers all patients enrolled into the M.A.T. program to the Substance Abuse Counselor.

  • Provides education to partners, patients, and families.

  • Ensures protocols for assessment, monitoring, substance abuse counseling, and medication management for individuals enrolled in the program is followed.

  • Establishes group and individual counseling for substance abusers; alcohol and other drug recovery education. Assists patients with developing skills though activities and groups for reentry into the community and relapse prevention.

  • Responsible for developing and implementing training and development programs for medical and behavioral health.

  • Charts all findings in patient’s medical record providing written summaries of history, findings, treatment course, and other documentation requirements as outlined by company and facility.

  • Coordinate meetings, associate research, and MAT programming activity.

  • Exercises clinical authority over assigned clinic daily operations and will work with the MAT provider on clinical issues.

  • Community outreach liaison attending community events to educate and establish contacts with the community.

  • Responsible for maintaining compliance with all Federal and State Laws and Regulations, including the submission of corrective action plans to agencies.

  • Manages the relationship with methadone authorities and other licensing officials.

  • Facilitates site visits by licensing officials.

  • Develops and implements corrective action plans as needed.

  • Monitors compliance with contracts, funding sources, and referral sources.

  • Participates and serves on appropriate regional and corporate committees, local and state task forces, professional organizations and associations which pertain to the services delivered by the agency to establish effective working relationships.

  • Participates in hiring, interviewing and selection, and orientation process of new staff.

  • Identifies training needs for individual staff members and conducts trainings as necessary in conjunction with training requirements.

  • Provides annual performance evaluations of all staff in conjunction with Clinical Supervisor and Director of Nursing.

  • Accountable for achieving revenue targets and controlling expenses.

  • Participates in marketing efforts to build census.

  • Maintains open dialogue and communication with staff members.

  • Administers staff corrective actions and disciplinary action as needed.

  • Sets the tone for a positive work environment.

  • Liaises with building management.

  • Ensures clean, safe work environment including compliance with fire and safety officials.

  • Knowledge of universal precautions and the blood borne pathogen rules.

  • Written and verbal communication skills.

  • Knowledge of emergency care methods and procedures.

  • Knowledge of health and safety guidelines and procedures and willingness to follow them at all times.

  • Ability to work on a computer including but not limited to: using the Internet, Microsoft Office products and Electronic Medical Record system.

  • Ability to touch type on a keyboard, operate basic office equipment including but not limited to using mouse and/or stylus to do electronic health documentation records.

  • Ability to identify problems in a timely manner and skillfully gather and analyze information then practically and creatively resolves problems.

  • Ability to maintain a professional attitude while communicating and speaking with colleagues, patients and clients at all times, maintains confidentiality, remains open to others’ ideas, and exhibits willingness to try new things.

  • Ability to speak effectively and professionally, clearly and persuasively in positive or negative situations and demonstrates group presentation skills.

  • Ability to develop professionally written communications, edits work for spelling and grammar, presents numerical data effectively, and can read and interpret written information.

  • Ability to prioritize and plan work activities; uses time efficiently and develops realistic action plans.

  • Ability to demonstrate accuracy thoroughness and monitors own work to ensure quality.

  • Ability to adapt to changes in the work environment, manages competing demands, and can deal with frequent change, delays, or unexpected events.

  • Ability to follow through with commitments, is consistently at work and on time, can be counted on by others, is continuously productive, follows instructions, responds to management direction, and solicits feedback to improve performance.

  • Knowledge and ability to promote and personally observes safety and security procedures; uses equipment and materials properly and takes necessary action to report incidences.

  • Ability to stay compliant with job applicable license(s) and/or certification(s), attends staff meetings and all required monthly, quarterly and annual trainings.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.
