Job Title: Expanded Learning Program- Academic College & Career Program Instructor (PI)
The purpose of the Academic Program Instructor is to provide academic support, coaching and intervention in a safe, supportive, engaging and interactive learning environment, in alignment with the 12 quality standard. This position has a specific focus on increasing academic performance and helping students learn the skills to prepare for their futures. Program Instructors are expected to facilitate classrooms of 10-20 students and create engaging activities and lesson plans.
$500 Sign-On Bonus after 90 Days of Employment
*Please note that rehires within three (3) years are not eligible for the sign-on bonus
Benefits
Pay rate: $23 per hour DOE
Hours per week: 22-25 hours, plus PD
16 paid BACR holidays
Off during school holidays and weekends

Minimum Qualifications
Must have an (a) Associate Degree or higher, or (b) 48 or more college units, or (c) High School Diploma or GED and pass Instructional Aide exam
Must pass criminal background check and TB test clearance
Must meet be able to work everyday during after school hours and commit to a academic school year (hire date through mid-June) required for the position
Must have a general knowledge base of core elementary/middle school subjects
Must possess strong classroom and behavioral management skills
Must be able to communicate openly and professionally with students, staff, parents, community partners, and school day staff
Must have basic technology & computer skills (word, email, google drive, etc.).
Responsibilities: (responsibilities include the following, but are not limited to)
Provide Academic Coaching, resources, planning and goal setting to ensure high school and college success
Develop skill building workshops related to academic success and life skills
Create, plan and facilitate academic activities based on students' skill level and state educational standards
Develop academic intervention plans in partnership with teachers and students
Develop age appropriate lesson plans: Clearly explain instructions for all assignments. (Must include learning targets, instructional strategies and Social Emotional Learning Activities that are in alignment with the 12 quality standards).
Promote a safe and positive classroom environment & actively supervise and ensure student safety at all times.
Model positive and proactive attitudes, behaviors, and language that is professional and kid-friendly.
Attend and actively participate in all staff and agency trainings’ & meetings.
Collaborate and communicate regularly with Coordinator, program staff, day staff and stakeholders.
Must have active knowledge of the CQI process as outlined in the EXL Handbook.

Above is the pay range for this position that we reasonably expect to pay. Individual compensation is based on various factors including experience/education, skillset, and geographic location.
