Job Description Summary

In this role you will be responsible for developing, implementing and leading the strategy for internal and external equipment for high voltage electrical installation projects. This role is responsible for achieving a highly competitive bid environment via supplier identification, supplier development, accurate proposal development, thorough bid analysis, price negotiations and favorable contract terms and conditions in order to drive successful execution outcomes that preserve schedule and margin.

Essential Responsibilities:

In this role, you will:

  • Identify, evaluate, quote and negotiate costs for material and equipment in support of commercial bids

  • Work closely with engineering and commercial teams to understand timelines and requirements for supplier identification in tender stage and selection in execution stage

  • Partner with engineering and supplier development team in order to identify, assess, and qualify new suppliers

  • Source and develop certified minority, veteran-owned, women-owned, and small business suppliers to achieve customer requirements

  • Drive KPIs: Deflation, DTP, Quality, Compliance, OTD

  • Implement procedures for continuous improvement, accountability, and efficiency in supplier engagement and execution

  • Negotiate master supply agreements as well as project-specific agreements for equipment and material

  • Ensure compliance with GE sourcing policies and procedures

Requirements:

  • Bachelors degree from an accredited university or college

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in sourcing in a high voltage electrical construction project environment

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience with contracting and negotiation of equipment and material

  • Ability and willingness to travel domestic & internationally 30% of the time. Must comply with all relevant company travel and tax policies

Desired Characteristics:

  • Preference will be given to candidates that have strategically managed the commodities of Auxiliary transformers, Switchgear, Electrical Panels, Cables, Steel and Prefabricated Buildings

  • Bachelors degree in engineering or technical discipline

  • MBA and/or financial experience

  • Proven project management skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks and deliver results on time and in budget

  • Strong oral and written communication skills

  • Negotiation expertise

  • Strategic thinker / planner

  • Strong quantitative and analytical skills

  • Able to develop a strategy and drive execution in a matrixed environment

The salary range for this position is 94,500.00 - 126,000.00 USD Annual. The specific salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including the candidate’s experience, their education, and the work location. In addition, this position is eligible for a performance bonus. 94,500.00 - 126,000.00 - 157,500.00 USD Annual
