If you have a passion for excellence, seek opportunities to engage in mission critical work, and consistently exceed expectations, apply now to join our professional family Essential Job Functions • Reports to UCOR Chief Engineer in the Technical Programs, Engineering, and Nuclear Safety organization • Manages UCOR’s Electrical Safety Program, including procedures, program documents, technical standards, field audits, investigations, causal analyses, assessments, benchmarking, lessons learned, training, and corrective actions • Responsible for program management, procedures, and processes related to Arc Flash Hazards Analysis • Chair of UCOR’s Electrical Safety Committee • Leads engineering organization to provide timely, accurate, comprehensive, and innovative solutions UCOR Operations and Projects • Responsible for professional development and advancement of assigned personnel through assigned work, professional rotations, mentoring, and participation in industry groups and conferences • Continually assesses assigned department resources to ensure appropriate skill mix and number of Engineers are on staff to support assigned scope • Responsible for making work assignments to personnel assigned to department • Ensures appropriate technical rigor and detail is reflected in assigned department’s Engineering products • Approves, or assigns Engineers to approve Engineering output document such as calculations, drawings, design changes, specifications, and scopes of work • Leads and participates in Engineering programmatic improvements • Participates in Amentum Engineering initiatives, as assigned by Chief Engineer • Responsible for managing assessments, corrective actions, non-conformance reports, and management concern reports for assigned department • Leads assigned department in maintaining client relationships, including routine meetings with U.S. DOE representatives Minimum Requirements Education: Bachelor of Science degree in an engineering discipline from an accredited college or university or equivalent. Registered Professional Engineer a plus but not required Experience: 15+ years total engineering experience with at least 5 years of this experience in a supervisory capacity. Minimum 5 years field experience in the design, installation, and operation of electrical systems, and in performing examinations of electrical equipment • Extensive technical knowledge of engineering systems, engineering calculations, applications of engineering methods and materials and applications of computer aided design • Must possess knowledge and experience necessary to be designated as UCOR’s Electrical Authority Having Jurisdiction (EAHJ). The EAHJ provides personnel with guidance and interpretations of electrical requirements of NFPA 70, NFPA 70E, OSHA, ANSI C2, and other codes, rules, and standards that are applicable to electrical safety at UCOR and performs examinations of electrical equipment and installations to ensure compliance with applicable requirements. The EAHJ also provides oversight of the Deputy EAHJ and EAHJ field representatives/inspectors • Must have demonstrated ability to effectively lead an engineering organization • Broad knowledge of industry/regulatory codes and standards, and engineering practices • Excellent communications, interpersonal, conflict resolution, and mentoring skills • Proficient in negotiation and dealing with client representatives LOCATION Oak Ridge, TN Due to the nature of the work, the selected applicant must be able to work on site PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORKING CONDITIONS Successful candidates will be able to perform the essential functions of the job with reasonable accommodation.
