New York State Insurance Fund Information Technology Specialist 1 -End User Services (NY HELPS) in NYC, New York
Duties Description:Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:• Provide remote technical support via the Service Desk for NYSIF staff and external customers.• Address service requests and provide assistance to end users as it relates to NYSIF personal computing, both hardware and software.• Image computers.• Provide new employee onboarding support.• Configure mobile devices.• Support all ITS Teams with hardware deployments, installations and system maintenance.• Create and maintain user and instructional documentation.• Assist with the ITS hardware asset hardware inventory, including the maintenance of hardware inventory system data, participation in the annual Physical Inventory and hardware disposals.• Demonstrated ability to engage in good customer service skills when working with end users is required.• Ability to lift at least 25 pounds.Minimum Qualifications:For permanent, competitive appointment:• One year of permanent, competitive class service as an Information Technology Specialist 1; OR• One year of permanent, competitive class service in a title eligible for transfer under Section 70.1 or Section 52.6 of the Civil Service Law. Eligible titles include, but aren’t limited to: Accountant Aide, Program Aide, Office Assistant 3, Office Assistant 3 Calculations.For appointment via NY HELPS* Program:• 60 semester credit hours including or supplemented by 15 semester credit hours in computer science; OR• One year of experience in information technology.Additional Comments:Please note, the salary range shown includes location pay and/or geographic pay.For new State employees appointed to graded positions, the annual salary is the hiring rate (beginning of the Salary Range) of the position. Employees will then be afforded with all the same rights and privileges of competitive class employees of New York State.
