Failure to show how you meet the minimum qualifications above may result in disqualification and removal from consideration.PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Degree field in Communications, Public Relations, Social Media, or Digital Communications.Duties Description The NYS Office of Faith & Non-Profit Development Services supports non-profit organizations and serves communities across the state, assisting faith-based and non-profit organizations in applying for grants from state agencies; providing informational resources for faith-based and non-profit organizations to build their capacity to provide effective services, improve performance and increase sustainability; and creating a network of organizations to better coordinate efforts, build coalitions and develop effective partnerships. Reporting to the Director of Faith & Non-Profit Development Services, the Assistant Public Information Officer serves as a public information and multimedia specialist in the Office of Faith & Non-Profit Development Services. Their duties will include but are not limited to the following:•Draft informational and outreach materials focused on program activities.•Write, edit, and distribute informational materials such as press releases, briefings, brochures, and other publications.•Participate in various activities related to or in support of the Office’s public information program.•Maintain the Office’s website content and social media channels.•Assist managers and other professional staff to evaluate the effectiveness of communications.•Analyze internal agency input or external customer input collected through surveys, focus groups, or interviews.Additional Comments Travel is expected to the Albany office location, as well as other areas of NYS, as needed.Salary within the listed range will be commensurate with education and experience, and degree to which preferred qualifications are met.
