Solutions Architect – Data Center Services Detailed Description

We are seeking to hire an experienced Solution Architect with at least 3 years of professional experience in a Cloud pre-sales role. The Solutions Architect aligns with clients, partners, and internal teams, creating solutions to drive business value. Our job is to help customers figure out and solve their cloud initiatives. We do this by taking a consultative approach in our discovery and assessment phases with the output being solutions that are built with reliability, performance, and security in mind. As an integral part of the Solution Architecture team, you will design customer deployment strategies that are purpose-built and well suited to the requirements.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical expertise in client engagements

  • Contribute to team's ability to meet quota targets (revenue, profit)

  • Create and deliver enticing proof-of-concepts/presentations/proposals

  • Create high-level solution designs/architectures

  • Translate business/technical requirements into actionable scope of work items

  • Conduct effective client meetings and gather/document/influence requirements

  • Conduct full technical discovery and assessment workshops to identify pain points and gather business and technical requirements. You will then architect client solutions to meet gathered requirements using a well architected framework methodology

  • Clearly communicate proposed architectures in the pre-sales cycle for early validation and verification to the internal teams responsible for implementing and providing ongoing support

  • Be a technology evangelist and educate prospects and customers on the cloud solution that makes the most sense for their business and technology requirements

  • Develop strong relationships with clients as a trusted technical advisor

  • Develop rapport and strong positive relationships with various individuals within the clients, manufacturers, industry peers, and internal resources

  • Discover/identify potential new opportunities (wider and deeper)

  • Articulate Netsync and OEM partners' value proposition

  • Interface with Product Marketing and provide feedback for improving product quality and capabilities by leveraging information gathered in field engagements

  • Produce Statements of Works (SOWs), create Build of Materials (BOMs) and develop cost estimates for Managed Services engagements

  • Provide thought leadership by speaking at industry events such as trade shows, panels or marketing events as well as publishing blog posts, white papers and participating in case studies

  • Continually learn the newest technologies

  • Lead alpha/beta testing and field trials

  • Provide technical oversight on solution configuration, design, proposal, and deployment

  • Effectively deliver training/knowledge sharing/transfer with both technical and non-technical audiences comprised of internal or external staff

  • Assist with strategy development on how to best position technology internally and externally, including management, driving and reporting all corresponding architecture opportunities, and archiving financial targets related to revenue growth and gross profit

    Additional Duties:

  • Work closely with the Account Team to train them and align on client opportunities

  • Contribute to delivery framework/design

    Skills and Experience:

  • Excellent client management/resolution and problem solving skills

  • Strong communication skills

  • Strong understanding of business drivers

  • Self-motivation but can work well independently and as part of a team

  • Experience translating business requirements to technical requirements

  • Experience with statement of work (SOW)/bill of materials (BOM) creation and scoping/pricing services

  • Experience with design/network architecture

  • Experience as a sales engineer

  • Experience with VAR, consulting, or other equivalent is a plus

  • Experience with solution/financial justification (translating soft cost/benefits to dollar value, ROI, payback, TCO, hurdle rates, IRR, life-cycle return)

  • Experience with competitive positioning Relevant Industry leading certifications desired; e.g. AWS Solution Architect Professional, Google Professional Cloud Architect, Microsoft Certified Azure Solutions Architect Expert, etc.

  • Understanding of the following Public Cloud Platforms: Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure, Google Compute Platform

  • Understanding of containerization & virtualization technologies; e.g Kubernetes, Docker, VMware, Hyper-V

  • Understanding of IAAS / PAAS / DAAS/SAAS platforms; e.g. EC2, Beanstalk,Appstream

  • Understanding of tools like Cloudamize, Cloudability, Stratozone, Nerdio,Movere

  • Understand of configuration management & orchestration tools; e.g. Puppet, Ansible, Cloudformation, Terraform

  • Understanding of different Disaster Recovery and data protection principles

  • Understanding of PCI, HIPAA, GDPR regulatory compliance frameworks

  • Understanding of Relational and Non-Relational Databases (MySQL, Oracle, MS SQL Server, DynamoDB)

  • Expertise in networking, compute, storage and OS fundamentals

    Minimum Qualifications/Technical and Education Requirements:

  • A bachelor's degree or equivalent work is required. A master's degree is a plus.

  • Certifications in solutions Netsync provides is a plus from manufacturers or industry leaders.
