Multimatic Sales & Marketing Inc. Data and Systems Lead Engineer (Job Code: 1004) in Novi, Michigan

Responsible for leading the data and systems group of Multimatic Motorsports USA; responsible for data, vehicle systems and systems integration related to the Ford GT3 program but not limited to this platform; responsible for all systems integration with regards to data analysis hardware including CAN-Bus layout, and integration including software; interface scrutineering harness for various championships in coordination with Ford; lead commissioning process of all production GT3 race cars and GT3 devices; provide data analysis support and pit stop analysis to the race team; perform multiple systems integration across several hardware platforms such as Bosch, MoTeC, HH, KYB, Magcanica, Pi, Control, Megaline, and 1System BF1; lead, organize, analyze, and support Ford GT3 core racing activities, development and production; provide the highest level of workmanship on the Ford GT3 program; responsible for all chassis data systems and their proper function; provide the highest level of support to the engineering team at Mooresville base and all track events; ensure that all work performed is thorough, methodical and to the highest possible level in motor racing; utilize data analysis, vehicle dynamics, project management, systems integration, Matlab, and MoTeC to perform duties; report any quality and part anomalies that could affect assembly or performance; lead component mileaging, and efficiently plan and schedule component and assembly changes throughout the project lifetime in coordination with crew chief and sub assembly lead; organize pre-event lists and meetings for data analysis hardware and software to ensure efficiency during car builds and commissioning; develop safe and practical methods to optimize race car systems analysis; support other co-workers with similar tasks in achieving the highest level of workmanship; identify problem areas related to car health, systems and analysis results to the lead race engineer; perform tasks as requested by team principle and race engineer; and help review pit stops, pit stop efficiency and choreography during shop practices and race weekends.

 

Location: Novi, MI and various unanticipated locations throughout the US;

 

Salary: $89,699 per year;

 

Education: Master's Degree in Automotive Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or in a related field of study (will accept equivalent foreign degree);
